Smelly Washing Machine

There is a product called washer magik and is designed specifically for the problem of smell. The rubber bellows, or gasket, is notorious for causing that to happen. If you need further help, I’m available over the phone at https://www.6ya.com/expert/jason_4570d45317834dd3

Filter

These model appliances have the filter as part of the sump assembly, you will need to unplug the appliance, on the back of the appliance is an access panel held on by screws, remove this and the pump assembly is on the bottom right hand side and the sump will be connected to the bottom of the drum assembly by a hose clip, inside this black pipe is the filter

Locating the filter on the Hotpoint WMA54 front load washer

To check and clean the filter, you need to remove the lower rear panel of washer.
Locate and remove the large black hose fastened to bottom of drum.
Remove and clean filter inside hose.
Remove hose onto pump, and check for obstruction or blockage here and in the pump as well.
Hope this helps to solve your question.
Please leave feedback.
Thanks.

Wm54 door locking light wont come on

IF the machine starts it is related only to a failure of the light, the connection or the wiring. If not there is fault in the main circuit unit of the controller.

My hotpoint WMA54 wont spin

Yes your machine will not spin if the water cannot drain... I do not have the machine in front of me but I would presume to think that you have a blockage in the water pump (or drain pump) There is a normally a small pvc or plastic filter just before the pump and this would stop most big things entering the pump.. if not there could be a coin or button stuck in your pumps impeller. Unfortunately if you are not technically inclined you will find it hard to access and open the pump otherwise just open the back plate on the machine (after removing the power socket from the wall) the pump is located at the bottom left and fairly easy to remove and open the plastic casing. If this does not solve your problem please give more info........

Aquarius wma54 front lights flashing

Hi Gary from retired Englishman in SW France,

As you do not say which lights and at what rate they flash I am having to guess ;-0)

I would gently suggest as a first step that you clean the drain motor/pump lint tray/filter- so many 'faults' are caused by blocked filters.
Following are my complete and hopefully 'coverall' pre-typed guidance notes for checking both the drain motor filter and the drain motor ;-0)
REMOVE POWER AND ENSURE YOU HAVE A WATER RECEPTACLE/RAGS TO SOAK UP THE WATER WHICH IS BOUND TO POUR OUT (alternatively use a wet vac as sensibly suggested by VinnyB1234!)
If you are unsure where the filter is, it is often behind the front lower (kick) panel (or in some machines at the rear in an awkward position!). These panels are either held on by (plasic) screws or will just pull off. Most filters are held in by a round cover/knob. Sometimes the filter will not come out with the cover and you will have to persuade it to come out to play.
It's surprising what people have found in theirs! It is always worthwhile checking it on a regular basis.
Now- whilst the filter is removed it is normally possible to see the drain motor and ensure it is not jammed by a foreign object such as a needle or a toothpick. It should be able to be turned by hand/finger- the power IS OFF!
At this point it is also possible to test if the motor works. No clothes or water in the machine, select a spin cycle and put the power back on. You should be able to see the motor turning at some point, possibly straight away. Using something suitable like a glove see if it is easy to briefly slow the motor down. If it is easy then the motor is malfunctioning.

If this has assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.
Thanks and good luck!

Even after replacing the door

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
(you may have already carried out some of this but.!)

Bad odours could be coming from a few places.
  1. the plumbing u-bend of the washer's room or
  2. the fact that there is 'foul' water being left in the drum.
  3. No washes at 90 degree+ !
I would suggest checking the plumbing u-bend for trouble first, then following the notes on checking and cleaning the drain filter and the drain pump to ensure there is nothing 'obnoxious' hanging around the two of them! Finally run the occasional 90+ wash to kill bacteria.
Here are my complete and generic guidance notes for checking both the drain motor filter and the drain motor ;-0)

Can bearings be removed without removing the drum

sorry no its a big job but here goes isolate from electric and power remove lid and rear bottom cover.
remove soap drawer and remove screws you can see behind it then remove fascia, then undo the door seal and plinth cover ,then remove front panel.
then remove dispensor hose from tub, go to the back remove sump hose and motor and wiring to element then remove top front sub frame and undo the top and bottom weights then remove the pins that hold the suspension legs to the tub lift off the springs and the tub is free.
Then split the tub knock out the old replace with new that is assuming you dont damage the shaft of the drum support whilst removing il then do it all in reverse this normally takes me 2 hours it might take you 2 days but hey lifes full of challenges good luck
