19" E Machine Monitor. Goes black screen on me

If you are going to DIY and have proper tools and know safety precaution then please read on:
Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply, blown fuses; poor solder joints, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

EMACHINE 19INW E19T6W MONITOR -

1wildvine, The fluorescent lamps (CCFLs) which provide white light to allow you to see all the pretty text and graphics on the lcd panel are not lighting-up any more. This symptom is not a new one for ANY BRAND of lcd back-lit monitor. Wow! At least you were smart enough to do the substitution of a "known-good" monitor to prove problem NOT caused by PC!!! Since 99% of all lcd back-lit monitors use the same basic "technology" , "design" and "principle of operation" you can view some video clips of any brand lcd monitor being repaired by their owner/technician over on YOUTUBE to get a handle on just what is involved in "refurbishing" a typical unit back to life for more years of service. After doing some research on your own, please return to fixya and then and only then rate this response and leave a comment or testimonial. Bad (swollen and or leaky) filter capacitors possibly problem on SMPS board. 12fixlouie

My monitor is distorted. It is an E181H It is

Well, it has a maximum of 1024 × 768 @ 60Hz resolution. Double check that you have the correct Hz selected on your computer and that your computer video card supports the higher resolution. If the video card maxs out at 800 then the highest you can get is 800. If all your setting are correct and the video card is capable of using the settings you want then you may need to trade the monitor in or have it repaired. It should be under warranty being only 6 months old.

Monitor displays frequency out of range.....need

The frequency is out of range because the VGA graphics card is not compatible or set right for the monitor's set of frequencies that it can work with.

Try another VGA graphics card.

Or upgrade the card to one with DVI, and upgrade the monitor to one of those 24" DVI Samsung monitors. They're nice. I got one from Best Buy a few years ago, and never regretted the larger desktop.

Good luck on this one.

Frequency out of range

the monitors resolution range is only to 1280X740 or 780
and your video card may also need an upgrade.
The game may require a higher resolution that is not compatible with the the devices mentioned.

My monitor has gotten really dark. How to fix?

Try another monitor on your computer. If the other monitor works fine, then you know the video card is good and the monitor is definitely bad.

If the monitor is the culprit then the only option is to replace it because that would mean the screen itself is going bad and there is no replacement screen for that monitor.

I need instructions on how to connect the memory

Take the memory-card to any computer-store, and get them to sell you an adapter which has a USB connector on one end, and a slot on the other end that matches your memory-card.

Insert your memory-card into the slot, and the USB connector into a USB port on your computer, and then open "My Computer" -- you should see a drive-letter for a "removable" device, namely the interface to your memory-card.

When I turn my computer/monitor on the monitor has

Hello,

The picture board on your monitor is bad, since it goes off after few seconds and the power led or button is on, it means the picture board of your monitor has developed fault.

The best thing for you to do now is to take the monitor to a local repairer within your vicinity to help with the replacement of the picture board because the fault is not something you can fix yourself, in order not to complicate issues.

Take care
