HP f1905e tilt and Height adjustment
I figured it out! Just takes a phillips screwdriver and a 5/16" open end wrench to tighten up some nuts inside the plastic housing. The plastic housing doesn't come off with the screws, but has to be slightly pryed up to release the little plastic catches. Be careful though, you don't want to break the plastic tabs. It's ok to break maybe 1 because there are several to take up the slack. At first I thought it was the nuts that are 1/2" (there are two that are close to 2 springs. But that was just for the tilt forward and backward. Actually there are 4 nuts (5/16") that need to be tightened. Don't over tighten or it will not tilt at all. I took photos of the disassembled base. If you have skype, then skype me at "golfbob" chino hills, and I can send the pics or talk you through it. Good luck.

Monitor went out and only
Use a flashlight and shine on your screen. Look carefully is you still see the image on the screen. If you do, this is an indication that the monitor is still working, but the backlight has failed.
A common solution with backlight-failures is to open the monitor, and look if you see any "swollen" capacitors (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capacitor_plague). If you see one you should replace it.
Only open your monitor if you know what you're doing and have basic knowledge of electronics and soldering.
My monitor goes blank after a certain period of
Hi kellbro1,
You're problem is not in the settings but in fact there's a three major parts involved for fault. First is your back light, second is your inverter board, third is your power supply. I've suspect that you're inverter board or its power supply caused this problem. If you have necessary tools and test instrument, know safety precaution in basic troubleshooting you may isolate the trouble. You have to test the inverter board by loading a two car bulb in series with it. Constant glow of light means you have a good inverter board and the backlight(lamp) need to be replaced, irregular glow of light means that you have a faulty inverter board.
Hope I helped you.
Have a nice day!
Thanks for using Fixya.
