Hp f1903 flat monitor won't come on

deepbass6, It's almost dead. You didn't say if the lcd was working fine (perfect picture) the day before. Need to know that! How old is it? "IN WARRANTY???" Although you didn't say, I suspect that you are wondering what to do, I will tell you your limited options. 1. Find out if HP has a Refurbished monitor swapout program. You send them yours+$50-$90, and they send you a Refurbished same model in return. 2. Locate local TV/Monitor repair shop that knows all about repair of the following Items: Switch-Mode-Power-Supplys and Cold-Cathode-Fluorescent-Tubes and their power source called an INVERTER circuit/board. Another name for that last item is known as an Electronic Ballast circuit. The new screw-in curlie-Q light bulbs are of the same basic technology. Only your tubes are thinner and straight and placed in front of a mirrored sufrace and hung horizontally on the rear of your lcd. 3. Check out (search web) all you can find out about BAD capacitors in lcd monitors and bad solder joints on inverter boards/SMPS boards. Try badcaps .net, and lcdrepair. us, and lcdpart.com /components, and just for a look-see-only, visit a site called electronicrepairguide.com, run by a Jestine Yong in the far east. pay no attention to his ad to sell you a course in lcd repair. ONLY view the photos of the insides of monitors and boards. youtube also has some videos of monitor disassembly and repair kinds of stuff. Well it's still a little cold for me to visit the gravel pits in s.e. side of Crystal Lake Illinois Virginia Rd and Pingree Rd on my lunch break. Hope this info was of some use. I'm louie12fix on fixya or email lmistyrel @ aol.com.
BYE for now.

Screen always flicering

If the screen is flickering then I would assume its a dry solder on the inverter board or the LCD panel is about to die. Are you skilled in electronics?

Hp pavilion f1903 flat panel

The problem is with the inverter board. It is pulling down the main power supply and cycling it on and off (crowbaring). If you disconnect the power supply cable to the board, the power supply will stay up and the power on lamp will cycle as normal. There seems to be a problem with one of the high voltage transformers on the board. I will let you know if I can find a suitable replacement of if there is a way to get an inverter board inexpensively. Good luck!

I have a june 07 and july 07 date monitors. they were different inside!! identical outside, however. The bulged,'bad' components were 1000uf 10v cap's, I put in radio shack 272-1032 1000uf 35wvdc. My monitors? BOTH were bought for $35 on craigslist, $10.35 in parts. ???BusinFLA -at- hotma*l dot com.....worked for me!

Monitor going black

HP's are known for bad capacitors in the power supply.
Replacing them is simple if you know how..not so simple if you don't.
Try your local TV repair centre. It should not cost alot to have the capacitors replaced.

Hope it helps =)

Monitor Repair

Goto your local Radio Shack or computer shop and ask if they know of any repairers in the local area. Chances are they have someone from such a place they supply equipment or parts to.
If you were in Australia I could do it in a flash.

Hope it helps =)
