Your power cable from monitor to CPU is not connected properly.
If it not works after checking.
Then change power cable and it will work.

May I ask what you mean by the windows does not recognized the monitor? You are not getting picture or you cannot set the correct native resolution (that is the best setting for best picture and aspect ratio)?
Native resolution for this monitor is 1280 x 1024 @60Hz.

change the resolution until get one that shows them ok ...this can be changed from the image driver (the driver for the video-card) or from the right click on the desktop...properties...settings..

There is ccfl(cold cathode fluroscent lamp) tube which is faulty therefore no light is there the ccfl tube operates on 600vac with 40khz-60khz so check 600vac to the tube if no voltage is there then check circuit and to open see any locks available there if no screw is observed take a smallest screwdriver (preset alligner)to open the lock

When you power up the computer press F8 key then enter in "Enable vga mode" then go to start menu->control panel->display property->settings .
Change screen resolution to 1024*768 then apply and ok.

there are several possibilities, and the most simple to try is to replace the VGA cable.

this is most likely a pc hardware issue and not a problem with the monitor itself.

1. check cables and power switches.

2. remove devices from power strip and then plug them back in one by one.

3. try alternating memory sticks to diagnose if one may be bad.

4. remove pci dial up modem card.

5. if you have an agb, pci, or pci-e video card remove it and plug monitor onto the onboard video if the option is present. if not test with a known good video card.

6. if possible test pc power supply with known good power supply as it may have gone bad.

any damaged piece of hardware could potentially cause a system to not post or display to a monitor check these first as they may be the most likely culprits.

mmm look you have a setting problem reset the screen to it's defulat if it didn't solve the problem you will have to change the press bottoms and you will need some who know electronics to help you with the board but first try to rest it to the defulat settings

a mic on a monitor? thats unique. um you can buy a mic and plug it to your computer.

I have the same monitor. I had the same problem you have. I couldn't find the correct replacement part so I improvised. The plastic part you refered to just activates a micro switch on the circuit board. In my case the micro switch worked just fine so I used 5 plastic buttons off of some ball point pens as a replacement. I took the monitor out of its plastic case and drilled holes in the front bezel directly over each of the 5 micro switches. I then put the buttons from the ball point pens in holes. So now the push buttons from the ball point pens act as a substitute for the broken part. I hope this helps.
