You will reqquire an A/D (analogue to digital) Converter to go between the camera and PC.
Connect the camera to the Converter with analogue cables and the Converter to the PC with a firewire cable.

You can get videos from this camera, or any analogue video source, into a computer, but you need more than just a cable. You have to play them into an analogue video interface port. These are available as expansion slot cards for a desktop PC, or as a USB plug-in interface (which is what you need for a laptop). The interface will come with drivers and probably software to digitise the video input and record it to a file. Lots of third party video editing software will also be able to accept the input from this kind of port. You don't need any "driver" related to the camera, it is just a video signal source. The connecting leads will be standard RCA signal plugs, like the ones you use to connect to a TV or VHS recorder. You probably already have a lead for this.
Once you have the video on the computer, you will need DVD "Authoring" and burning software, which will usually come as part of the same package. You can download such software for free from the internet- my first stop would be www.download.com.

This is probably due to bad tape tension, which indicates the unit most likely needs a good cleaning, and perhaps a little adjusting. It's pretty cumbersome to try to clean or service one of these units yourself, and I would recommend having a good camera shop do it for you. If you call around, you will find some repair shops and can get quotes on cleaning/fixing.
Good luck, and hope this helps.

Hi,
This is a common problem on Sony Camcorders.
As per Sony, this message us due to Moisture condensation has occurred. Eject the cassette and leave your camcorder for at least one hour to acclimatize.
If this does not solve the problem, you need to return the unit to Sony for repair.
There are couple of tricks that could solve the problem. Each has a different way of assuming the things.Read :-

It’s a common Sony error code, usually involves the take-up reel, the tape maybe slacked a bit, tighten the tape by doing a FF and RW, sometimes the cassette gets packed to one side, smack the cassette against a flat surface lightly on both sides, do a FF RW and see if that takes care of it, if it only happens with one tape, bless it and bury it, if it happens all the time you may need repair, if you have done a net search you probably have run into mentions of people getting physical to the transport side of the various cams, up to you what you do.
If you have a problem clearing the error use the little reset button under the LCD panel.
