where are you from? I don't have it. but i know a place nearby to get it.

did this some time ago so i don't recall clear...-download the XP driver from the website-create a folder on the c drive and run it from inside this folder - it will decompress the files to a folder called Sony_usb-run setup from the Sony_usb folder - install in compatible mode after warnings-restart pc-open device manager -right click on the icon with the question mark and select Update driver-browse to the location of the Sony_usb folder-you will receive x red message (don't recall what the warning was) click ok and another message will pop about compatilbel install - do the compatible install.to sume up - do xp compatible install all acrosshope this helps

The only suggestion I can give you is contact Sony to see if they can provide you with an updated driver for windows 7 to allow your handycam to work with your computer. Unfortunately when windows changed their operational systems a lot of companies did not offer the required driver upgrade for people that have older units, and even if you went with the Firewire I think you would still run into problems with compatibility issues.

You have a transport problem with the tape feed. If you are up to working in small spaces without damaging adjacent parts, you can try and clean the pinch roller and capstan drive system with alcohol on a Q-tip. Sometimes, there are special cleaning tapes your can purchase that will do the same thing. Assuming that the transport is dirty, you may have a shot at it. If it's excessive wear instead, it's shop time. One more thing. DO NOT USE A CRINKLED TAPE IN YOUR CAMERA. IT WILL TEAR UP THE VERY DELICATE TAPE HEADS PERMANENTLY.

You can also use USB cable if you have PIXLA software however the picture quality is bad using USB.

Ok, there are a few ways to do this all have pro's and con's. you need to install drivers and software. usually there should be a DVD that comes with the camera, that has software and drivers on it.
So first you must download and install the necessary Drivers for your camera. Install the software and then plug in the camera, DO NOT plug it in until either asked to do so during the install or at the end of the install and after a reboot.

once you have the drivers installed then the P{C will "See" the camera, and you will be able to use it.

The next thing you need is a video editing software. Any DVR (Digital Video Recorder) program will also work.
Now the "other' way is to obtain a USB Video INPUT dongle, or a Video card that has a Video INPUT, and have all the software installed for them too.
Now once all installed, you can also then hook up with the AV IN & OUT cables. sockets. Then one simply presses Play on the DVR, and record on the Software and then the DVR will stream the video to the PC, where the DVR will record it in an acceptable FORMAT eg: MPG4.
Now once finished one can then use Video manipulation software to do what you wish and record to DVD whatever.

after installing the drivers for windows xp and image mixer,for my sony dcr trv 19e...the camera can't still be recognized by the computer....

There is control switch block that has zoom/wide switch along with play, rewind, forward, stop, pause buttons and this switch block flip up and down while ejecting/ load tape in camcorder, this will be replaced as zoom/wide switch got defective and sending continues command of zoom to system control chip.
Let me know if you need part number of switch block control for DCR-TRV120
