Need to transfer video from my sony handycam to my

If you want to use the USB cable to connect the Camera to the Computer to transfer the video to the Computer then:

(Applicable for Vista Operating System Only.)

This Camcorder does not support USB streaming with the VISTA Operating System. Use an i.LINK cable to transfer the video to the Computer. The i.LINK port is also called IEEE 1394 or Firewire port. (An i.LINK is a black D shaped connector with 4 or 6 pins. The type of cable to be used will depend on the i.LINK port of your Computer. The Sony Camcorder will have the 4 pin i.LINK cable and if the computer has the 6 pin i.LINK port, then you may have to use the 4 pin to 6 pin i.LINK Cable).

You can use any video capturing software like Windows Movie Maker to transfer the video from the Computer.

Refer this link for the instruction to transfer the video to the Computer using i.LINK cable.

http://www.kb.sony.com/selfservice/documentLink.do?externalId=C111893

NOTE:As the Camcorder does not support USB streaming with Vista, it is not required to use any Sony Device Driver to transfer the video to the Computer. You do not require any Drivers or Software from Sony to transfer the video from the Camcorder to the Computer using the i.LINK/Firewire interface.

(Applicable for Windows XP Operating System only):

If you are using a Windows XP Operating System then you have to install the USB Streaming Driver in the Computer from the supplied Software disk with the Computer.

Check this link for the instruction to transfer video to a Computer using USB Streaming.

http://www.kb.sony.com/selfservice/documentLink.do?externalId=C222820

If you do not have the supplied Software disk then I suggest that you use the i.LINK cable to transfer the video.

Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Be able to watch on the computer &Transfer tape to a DVD also

Do you have a memory card in your camera? What cords do you have with this camera? If they are just RCA jacks then it won't work. You can use a house style dvd burner to transfer video to dvd.

My camara records but in extreme "blocky" pixilated form.

Your camcorder is good one and you probably have a case of dirty video head. Head gets clogged all the time so for your remedy, insert a new video head cleaning tape and run it for about 10 seconds but no more. This cleaning should take care of 60% of the head clogged problems. But if it does not, take it to local camcorder repair company and they should be able to clean it deeper with chemical so decent price ($25-75) depending on where. Good luck -James. When opening camera to insert tape, tape tray slides out, does not

This is new for a sony camcorder technician. Here is what you should do. There may be a sticky substance holding the side tape door to open then the whole tray will go back down. Using battery, press the eject button when the tray is all the way up, disengage the battery to turn the power off. This way you will have the tape tray at posititon just before the opening of side door. With you finger nudge the door outward to see if it is just got stuck by substance. Using Q-Tip with some "windex" go around the edges of the tray. You can also take the door off by removing two screws. -James. For additional assistance by email, go to www.camerarepairjapan.com

DCR-TRV350 Sony Handycam won't load pictures to Vista

You need to purchase a video editing software program. If you have a usb or dv port on your computer you will need a firewire card on your computer or a spare usb port.

Pinnacle Studio will work with Vista. Once the software is installed and the camera is tuned on, A dialog box will appear asking to run Pinnacle Studio. Go into capture mode to copy the video to your hard drive.
