Try checking the monitor to PC cable, if it's not fully on it will cuse color spread like you describe. One of the pins may not be inserted into the cable properly.

now all the monitor r degauss automatically.if u want manually just turn off and turn on monitor two times.(power switch in the monitor)

it is the one that is blue in color and has an L on it for low pressure. The vapor line is also called the suction line. If your confused, then choose the larger of the two lines near the accumulator.

The best solution would be to get a new monitor.

Do you have everything plugged into a surge protection power strip?   If not consider getting one, as this will eliminate the Voltage Spikes which may be caused by everything coming on at the same time.

Make sure the refresh rate is set at 60 hertz before using the new monitor also check the display settings to see if they are set to use the external display also. Yours may automaticaly do this and your partners may not. If this does not help please let me know the type of notebook and monitor. Good Luck!

You simply need a miniature stereo audio cable.  Radio Shack carries them.

What resolution and refresh rate are you using?

Have you tried degaussing the monitor?

this might be due to power supply failure. check fuse, switching transsistor, maincap& bridge rectifier ckt. if it is ok than check for h/section failure. check for h/output transistor &flyback transformer. hope this will help.

if it cannot be adjusred from outside then the problem in monitor. check hor osc & h/sync section in monitor or loose contactin that section. if you want manual you can go to www.serviceinfo.com

ok try this one switch the hard-drive off and on again to restart it and then the screen would come one.

Check the all the cables. Check input settings by using the menu.

(hardward failure, monitor. the tests are simple, it fails on 2nd good PC, what can be more simple that test ANY 14 year old monitor on a 2nd good PC. when dead do this.(test2) they are all here when dead again use a FLASH LIGHT. (has CCFL inside and that is never fun now) the cure is newer monitors 2011 to now called LED monitor.s or OLED. the tubes are cold cathode florescent tubes. (back lamps.) (have 5 classic fail symptoms not just dead) they are short lived, laptops and monitors both back then. 20,00hours on the clock and go bad. bank on it. the 3 failures are CCFL, PSU board, and logic board #1 is CCFL the all died long ago, on average about year 2003 (07 +5= 12, 2012) at 20,000 yours boom dead. or intermittent. (using bench PSU to test them) but you have non of that so. upgrade
