Hotpoint Ice diamond fridge freezer both green & red lights on.?
bulmer...it takes about two days to fully defrost these units unless you take the freezer section cover off and use a heat source. If you do...be sure to protect yourself against water and electricity mixing....not healthy. See below for another note.
clean the condenser coils below the unit.
check for the amount of gas in the unit. It must be off for half an hour. Remove the back fiber panel. The big thing is the compressor. Clean off the largest pipe coming out of it. Plug the unit in...watch out for the fan! The pipe should frost up and then clear off or stay wet after about 5 minutes. It should not be frosty. If it is, you need refrigerant.
Note: If you do remove the inside freezer panel and defrost, you can see how much refrigerant you have in your unit. Start the unit. Wait 5 minutes and observe the coils. They should be evenly frosted end to end. If approximately so, you're good. If not, you're low on gas.

remove back panel inside freezer and you will find drain at bottom blocked with ice. melt off with a hairdryer and follow up with hot water till drain flows freely.
you may have a fault with the defrost system or the drain heater
Hot Point Refrig.
this could have been due to leaving door open by accident so excess ice formed. water just evaporates with heat from the compressor
Bottom freezer not working
Hi, sorry I do not have any advice to offer. We have the same model. Three weeks ago the red light came on and freezer stopped working. Last week the fridge packed up. We may have been unlucky but I thought it might be worth mentioning incase they were related and your fridge gave up as well.
Top fridge on this model
Sounds like a defrost problem. Check to see if
there is any frost buildup in the back wall of the freezer. If so, it is not
defrosting as it should.
- bad defrost timer
- bad defrost heater (in freezer)
- bad thermo switch in freezer
If
you don’t know what these are then unplug the machine and let the ice melt in
the freezer overnight with the door open. Then try it the next day, if is
cooling fine then you need to have a service person replace one of the above
items. If it still has a problem then it might be the compressor and you should
probably replace the machine.
Hotpoint ultima fridge freezer
It's just simple.Keep the refrigerator open for few days with power on.After when the electricity bill comes, eveerything will be cooled.
UPRIGHT FREEZER
Some units have a selector switch that says; reduce moisture/save energy. If you have this its obvious what to do. If you don't have one or are getting condensation anyway, check the door gasket. Make sure its getting a proper seal. The outside air has water in, aka, humidity. If the unit sucks air from outside, as it cools it will condense and make dropletts accumulate on the top. The drainage from the defrost may also be seeping in and cause the water too. Especially if its on the bottom. It may have a clogged drain line.
Hotpoint 8496p fride not working
I had a similar problem with a top freezer and it was discovered that the fan had actually slipped down on motor shaft and was stuck against the freezer wall. Check to see if there is enough clearance for the fan to actually spin.
Condensation problem hotpoint mistral 8596
if the door seals are both ok, check and see if she has any open containers in the fridge juice ect that may be allowing moisture to escape. a model number and serial nuber off the sticker in the fridge would help me with more ideas.
Frige-Freezer not coming on!
there is really nothing You personally can do to fix it, oyu will have to call a serviceman, i reccommend sears. It is a internal circuit or wire that probably blew and needs to really be fixed by a professional.
Hot point (iced diamond) model R564P
Red light refers to temperature failure, green refers to mains power normally. If the unit is running continuously then I would suspect gas loss (if not frost free) or defrost problem (if frost free). If it is gas loss you are probably looking at a new unit. If it is a defrost problem then you could try defrosting and restarting unit. I cannot find your exact model so hard to suggest solutions to. Hope this helps.
Hotpoint 8496p
this fault is very common for this model but not something that you can do if you r not an engineer the part you will require is an evaperator thermistor to any engineer that is unfamiliar with this it is the green one good luck
Hotpoint FFA60 - Freezer Fan not working
It sounds as if the fan motor itself has failed, & without the fan, only the coils will get cold. A replacement can be obtained from any appliance parts store, or from Hotpoint...check the website. If you are not experienced in appliance repair, I suggest you call a repair person , as some of the fans can be difficult to replace, & it is easy to cause additional damage.
Freezer not working
there is a defrost fault - quite common with these hotpoint. fault could lie with the module or stats associated with defrost or possibly the heater itself. most probable is the module but impossible to localize by remote control.
