Hello Devsi, hi, check your VGA cable connection for loose connections, try tighten it first to see if it solves the problem. the greenish thing is cause by a missing red signal, and the distortion is caused by a missing horizontal sync signal, also check out if there are bent pins on your monitor signal cable. just unplug the VGA cable and see if the pins are in order. if bent, carefully straighten it with a slim slotted screw driver.

Monitor is turning off, loosing screen.
your not being really specific, but if the screen is shutting off right away after turning it on, you have either a power supply problem, or its possible the on/off button switch is not working properly. Repairs on flat screens are usually around $80.00 + parts.
if its a screen saver or your computer going into standby mode you can change that in the control panel under display and going to power settings
thanks

Hello,
On most LCD monitors the power indicator will flash on and off slowly when there is no video source present and the power is on.
Usually this can be corrected by enabling the video source in the display properties menu of the PC.
If that is not the problem the 2nd most likely cause would be a faulty VGA cable (try a different one)
And the 3rd possibility could be the monitor video input board has failed and that usually means it's totaled considering how inexpensive the monitors are to replace these days.
I hope this helps you.

Firstly check the connecting cable from the screen to the computer at both ends. Ensure that the thumbscrews that keep the connector in place are tight. Has the PC been moved recently? Any chance the cable could have been put in the wrong place?
You can get the installation manual on the following link to see where that cables should go:
http://us.lge.com/filedown.do?filepath=1...
Try resetting the monitor by pressing the "Auto/SET" button on the front panel for a few seconds with the PC on.
If that fails you can do a full factory reset on the monitor by using the on screen menu and navigation to the "reset" function on the setings (gearwheel) page. This is described in the manual page A12.
If all this fails then disconnect the cable to the monitor, the monitor should display "no input signal" if it does suspect the PC graphics card is faulty.

Why does my LG flatron 1953T LCD monitor (19') goes white
Because the fuse on scaler PCB is blown. Open the monitor, open metal cover, disconnect all cables coming between display and boards, take the chassis off the display.
On back side of display you will see metal cover, mounted with tiny screws, take them off. Unscrew the board also and carefully tilt it up. Observe tiny chip fuse (referenced F1 or FU1 or something with "F") somewhere nearby the connector, ring it, replace it with solder drop.
Take everything back together.
