Most new LCD tv and monitors color,brightness,vert.hold, horz.hold,resolution, ect., are all controlled by a single programmed EEPROM, that costs more to replace than a new monitor/tv. You pay for the programming, not the chip.

This could be because the menu button is faulty contact Samsung support and they will help

Does this monitor use a separate AC power converter/power supply? If so, unplug from monitor, and test voltage on the output plug. Had a similar problem, it was the power supply, NOT the monitor.

Well, there are so much good monitors out there.in market.. You can find them easily by searching on internet. So you can try any new monitor to get rest to your eyes.. I am not telling that Samsung is not good, but if you have old model monitor..

I had a similar problem with my monitor, it turned out to be a loose connection inside the unit, there is a motherboard inside the monitor, it was between this and the LCD that a cable had come loose, some dismantling of the monitor but worth a try.
