My 22 inch Scepter Monitor will blink (blue light)
Hello,
The most common cause of a blinking power light is a faulty power supply. Heat buildup in the monitor case causes parts called capacitors to overheat on blow out. If you can solder you should be able to do the repair yourself. Go to our web site at:
www.ccl-la.com/badcaps.htm We have pictures of what blown capacitors look like. Open your monitor and look for capacitors that look like the pictures, replace any that you see and you should have a good working monitor again. Be sure to use High temp replacements, they will be marked 105c or you will be doing the repair again very soon. Do not use parts from Radio Shack they are not rated for this type of use. You can order the correct ones from several places on the internet or we can supply them for you. The values you will need will be marked on the sides of the ones you take out but will be like 220uf, 470uf, 1000uf etc. and they will have a voltage rating. When you install the new caps be sure to align the polarity stripe on the side going the same direction as the old one comes out. If you don't want to do the repair yourself we do offer a repair service for $30 plus return shipping. If you have any questions just let me know.
I hope this helps, if so please rate our solution.

Grier_rhow do you remove the bezel from the
Hi grier_r46,
Please follow the steps below on how to remove the bezel of your unit.
1. Locate the screws around the perimeter of the Sceptre X20G monitor's bezel.
2. These will likely still be covered with plastic seals, so pop these seals off first and then remove the screws with a hillips-head screwdriver.
3. Remove the Sceptre X20G monitor's bezel. It is now loose, so pull up one corner of the bezel and notice the plastic latches between the bezel and the rest of the display.
4. These continue to tenuously hold the bezel in place. Use a thin, non-metal object to pry between the bezel and the plastic latches.
5. This will unhook the bezel from the latches and allow for complete bezel removal. Take care not to damage the plastic latches during this process.
Hope it helps.
Thank you for using FixYa.

My monitor wont come on
Power supply will be the first place to look, make usre that it does put out 5vdc for logic and 12~18vdc for the backlight inverter circuits.
Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply, blown fuses, poor solder jopints, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed SCEPTRE monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

What does a blue flashing light on the monitor
Hello there
manderson230.
Here's your geek-steer ...
It means the monitor's currently not recieving any video signal input from the PC's video adapter (because the PC is either shutdown/off or in sleep/hibernate mode), but the monitor is receiving power and turned on.
Please post back ...

Sceptre X20G Naga II 20.1" Widescreen monitor
I am working on one of these for a customer. Found leaky cap on 5 volt power supply. replaced it, still no backlight. Looked at the inverter with an o-scope and it runs for a few seconds then shuts off. I hooked a ccfl across each of the transformer secondaries on the inverter and it lit up! I believe the problem is failed ccfl units. There is plenty of voltage there to light them up, I have an rf burn on my thumb to show for it. I have not looked at the ease of dis-assembly of the display to replace the backlights. It does not look easy.

Monitor is acting up been using for about 3 years
The problem is most likely caused by one of two things. Either your monitor has a defect or the video output of your computer is defective. The problem can be isolated by connecting your monitor to another computer that you know is working properly. If the problem occurs on the known good computer then you know the monitor is the problem. Just to be sure connect a known good monitor to your computer If the problem occurs when you have a good known monitor connected to your computer then you know the problem is with your computer and not the monitor.
Please let us know if this answers your question.
