It isn't generally possible to delete individual video clips on a tape (if that is what you meant). If you meant delete the stuff on a whole tape, that will happen when you start recording at the beginning of the tape again.

There should be a manual eject button. You know like on CD-ROM's there was a small whole for a paperclip to fit into, there should be one on that camera. This will eject manual, and becareful the tape might be caught on the head.

It is symptom of Dew error that means camcorder sensed some moisture inside and will not accept tape to avoid any damage like tape of video heads. Do you see any dew error display blinking in LCD?
Please remove battery / power source for few hours, reattach battery/ power source and turn it On, put tape and check.

If you have had the camera for a long time, it may have simply died. This may not help, but you could leave the camera on untill the battery loses all power, then try to turn it back on, and see if it works.

I had the same problem. I tried to solve this issue by buying a dvdmaker usb 2.0 gizmo. I have to use my VHSc cassette adapter and put it in the vcr.I connected the vcr and new gizmo to the pc and could see the video on my monitor- but no audio. So I tried plan b, which didn't requite any other purchases. I connected my old camcorder to my newer digital canon camcorder (which converts the signal from analog to digital) this in turn, is connected by a firewire to my pc. I can see (and hear) the video on the viewer of the camcorder. So far, it isn't being captured by my pc. Is this a Vista issue ? I don't know. I'm hopeful... I'll figure it out!

Format the card with the camera. If that doesn't work, format the card as FAT (not FAT32) file system with your PC.

cleaning cassette may help - if the picture comes back but soon goes blue screen ? your heads need thorough cleaning or replacement ;

you must buy a cleaning casette.

tapeloader is bad. and or tapesensor. reseat all ribbon cables if you can.

Before you insert the already recorded tape make sure you close off the small square hole with the moveable tab(often green or red colored).After inserting the tape rewind it to the point where you want to start reusing the tape ,set in camera mode and hit the record button .

I have one doing the same thing. I called Cannon and the told me I would have to send it in for service. Now after reading that about 10 other folks having the same issue, I think Cannon has some issue with the ZR100.

Behind the regular battery is a door to a lithium "coin" battery. It needs to be replaced (if it is even in there.

I would check to see if your camcorder is set for autofocus or manual. If it got changed to manual by accident, that would explain it (you can USE manual, but you'll have to keep adjusting focus). If this isn't the problem I would take it to the dealer you got if from or a repair station.

while the eject process is trying to happen remove the battery and replace it. keep initiating the eject process and removing the battery and it should finally eject. If you attempt to use the camera again put in a new tape so you don't lose a tape that contains footage you may want to save.

Can you tell if it is recording them that way as well?

It sounds like it needs a head adjustment. That can be done at any camera store.
