The best part is that the software is free and easily downloadable via the Internet. So, go ahead and swap those unused keys on your keyboard to suit your computing experience, and make your keyboard more effective without fear of damaging your computer Place your mouse pointer over a key on the visual keyboard. Notice that the key is numbered. To see what function the key is currently assigned to, allow your mouse pointer to hover over the key. A pop-up displays what the key is attributed to. Left-click the mouse pointer on a key you wish to change. Click on Choose New Remapping from the drop-down menu. Select Remap Key from the Control area on the interface. You may also opt to disable or enable the key, and reset the default for this key. Left-click Apply. The cooling on the Acer Travelmate 2500 is worse than most because it contains thin copper heatsink fins which grab the dust as it flies past. Great for getting rid of heat; terrible for getting rid of dust.

prise off the two corner pieces that cover the hinge for the screen. Underneath there are two screws. Remove these, then peel away the keyboard and the plastic covering. There you will see the fan system. Four screws (on springs - careful) will have this away but be aware of the power cable which is tucked in behind a piece of metal. At all times be careful not to damage the keyboard ribbon cable which is usually pretty fragile.

Another few screws (tiny ones) will have the top of the fan off then you can clean and put it all back together. The result: a laptop that actually blows air through and cools what it should.

some acer travel mates dont have a wireless card, open it up at the bottom (youll see 2 pannels one is the memory the other the wireless card) if you have a card in both slots you have wireless already, and just activate it vie the control panel

Check for the driver if installed or is there an update available.

CHECK THE MEMORY

The stand by button is greyed out when A) your computer is too old to support the
Advanced Control Power Interface (ACPI) or B) ACPI is not configured properly.
Start->Control Panel->System->Hardware tab->Device Manager button. Do any of the
items have a red 'X' or a yellow '!' beside them?

go to http://tim.idau/laptops download your service manual it will show where wireless card & bluetooth card are installed, good luck .

There is a toggle switch in front of the laptop which needs to be turned on

NO.PROBLEM THE EASY WAY TO DOING THIS IS TO FLASH THE BIOS JUST OPEN A NEWER VERSION OF BIOS FROM MANUFACTURER SITE N INSTALL IT VIA WINDOWS.IN THAT WAY UR BIOS WILL BE UPGRADED N THE PASSWORD WILL BE SET TO DEFAULT.IF U R NOT A TECHNICIAN DONT TRY TO OPEN THE LAPTOP.
