Hello,
i have a hp Hp
I would say that either your password is not right either wrong or in the wrong "keyslot"or your hp isn't getting the proper numbers from the router. Since you can see them and connect we can be almost certain there is nothing wrong other than a setting.
Past that a incorrect password or on some wifis incorrect case of letters or wrong position would do exactly this. Basically every time your hp (or any other device) sends data to the wifi it will send the password info. It doesn't need to have the password to see or even connect but to get the data past what is basically a firewall it needs the key which is the password etc. Usually the case doesn't matter for most wifi routers but on some it does all the time and on others it does if they are setup that way. I've been caught by that more than once as case is unusual. To any electronic device Password and password are two totally different things. As well there are normally 4 key slots or positions that password is associated with. You can actually have 4 different pass codes as a result. And again even if the password is the same if it isn't in the right slot then the router will ignore it as it is incorrect. Basically you have to keep trying to enter it in while trying any variations. You can also yell and call it names. Doesn't help but can make you feel a bit better about this irritation ;-)
Last thing is that a lot of networks use what is called DHCP service or Dynamic Host Control Protocol. All that nonsense means is that when you get connected the router assigns the numbers to the device. That is how it is supposed to work. What happens on a few handhelds is that this does not want to work so what you have to do is manually enter in the numbers. You need a ip# (something like 192.168.2.10), a net mask (usually 255.255.255.0) a gateway number which is the ip of your router (will be something like 192.168.2.0) and then you need the DNS numbers for your ISP which will be sim in layout to the previous examples.Once you enter these in you will be able to connect to the lan and out to the internet. I still use my Palm Lifedrive and it has this issue on some routers. On the ones that I have manually entered them in the network runs faster so it is worth doing.
So you need to keep checking the password and slot (till it hurts) as well as considering putting in the numbers manually. If you need help with that you can reply here and either myself or someone else can assist with that.
I´ve a pda hp h5455 that don´t start ,
To do the hard reset, while on battery (NOT A/C) power, hold down the two outside front-panel buttons (Calendar and iTask), While holding them, press the reset button with the stylus. Keep these buttons all pressed until the image on the screen begins to fade (about 4 seconds), then you can release the reset and application buttons. To restart your iPAQ, you must then plug the unit into A/C power, or do a Soft Reset by again, pressing the reset button with the stylus.
IPAQ 5455 Hard Reset
Just hold down the calendar and today buttons, these are the two outer buttons on the lower left and lower right, then using a stylus press and hold for at least ten seconds the soft reset button this is located on the lower right edge of the unit. The screen should reset and the iPAQ will boot up again.
Please Help me too thank you
This will reset the pda into the original state, so you will loose all files and programs in memory, files in a storage card wont be effected.

Unwanted hard resets
you have to send it in for service, there noting else we can do. well you can try a hard reset yourself but as its most likely a hardware problem it wont change anything

The HP ipaq 5550
Thats not a problem.. I have holidays and should not have a problem for livechat anytime and if you can just let me know in advance that would be enough..
Unwanted soft reboot
Thanks everyone for looking at this problem, but I think I have fixed it. I had purchased an after market battery pack for the h5455 and the pins were not aligning up properly. The pda was coming on, but when it got banged around a little it must have caused it to reboot. I just bought a HP battery pack and all is well. Thanks again.

Phone capability?
Yes this device has a SIM slot but it is unusable and so cannot be used for phone capability.
