My Ipaq rx3715 won't charge. "AC only"

its obsolete now, why use this thing? wait for battery? then post? or go to HP and ask them, we are not HP, this is chat bs boxes here. ever heard of HP? this is the official HP forum, try it? If HP cant help you who can, learn this ,when compelled to mess with obsolete products buy 2 of them for like $3 on fleabay (most are in the trash now) then mix and match parts, all day. its obsolete, so doing tests on it lacking full spares is impossible. why not buy a $3 used smart phone from same place, https://h30434.www3.hp.com/

How to switch off my hp ipaq

On most HP pocket PC's, holding the power button momentarily will turn it off.

If you hold it too long, it will only turn off the backlight, but the unit will remain on.

How can i do a master reset on my ipaq, i lost the

The only "master reset" i know of is a hard reset. Warning! This will erase all data in the main memory (not in ipaq file store) and reload the operating system from ROM. Afterwards you should restore the latest backup.

To perform a hard reset do the following:
- place the unit on a table with the display facing upwards
- with two fingers of one hand press and hold the leftmost ("Mobile Media") and rightmost ("iTask") button simultaneously
- with the other hand press the reset knob with the stylus

Slow or fast charge

Yes, the amperage your charging at determines charging time. The higher the amperage, the faster it charges. Your battery is rated in mAh or milliamp hours. One Ah means the electric charge transferred by a steady current of one ampere for one hour. A mAh would be 1/1000th of an amp for one hour. If your battery is a 1500mAh battery it means 1.5 amps for one hour. This charge current should not exceed the rating of the battery. It would cause possible excessive heating and possible a fire or explosion, especially on newer more volatile batteries like lithium polymer batteries. The life of the battery charge when fully charged will be similar no matter how you charged it, but slower, lower amperage charges will maintain your battery better than quicker, higher amperage charges and help extend it's life to its potential.

I hacing a probleem with me align srceen hp ipaq

The top digitizer part is defective and needs to be replaced.

Unfortunately, such operation needs to be performed by a experienced technician since requires open the PDA, soldering, and replace the top glass digitize part with the risk of break the LCD screen.

I do recoomend you to get a quoto for such service.

If you want to try it, there are in Ebay some digitizer parts that are cheap, but you will ned to procure yourself other tools that are needed for the job.

Ipaq rx3715 won't reset.

The description you are providing indicates the PDA has problems in uploading the booting firmware to the memory.

Unfortunately, this means that it needs a professional technician to open and perform a diagnostics on it to fix it.

It may be a defective integrated circuit, or moisture or humidity that got inside de PDA.

Some times is possible to fix it with minor internal cleaning or with minor replacement of electronic parts, but other times is possible to fix it only with the replacement of the main board.

Bottom line, you need to have a quote for diagnostics and repair of it, and make the decision if is better for you to repair it or buy another one.

My ipaq rx3715 shuts down after plugging into its

I can only especulate on all the possible reasons, so let go one by one throuh them and their possible solutions:
1. The RX3000 Ipaq family has a known mechanical issue on the switch that senses when the back cover lid is properly closed.

When the switch is nor properly depressed, the PDA won't charge the battery if plugged on the cradle or to the USB sync cable, or won't turn on.

Remove the back cover lid and the battery, put them back again. Check the cover lid is placed flush and that there is not any gap between the cover and the PDA body.

Try again in power it on and/or charge the battery, confirming the orange LED light is turning on.

2. False contact on such back switch.

You need to find exactly where is located the switch that senses the battery cover lid.

It's located at the right/bottom side thru the battery bay. Check that there is not dirty or dust accumulated, causing that is sticky such area, which prevents such switch to work properly.

If you find nothing obvious, you can use small pieces of transparent tape (or masking tape) and put them on the internal side of the cover lid that is in contact with the switch (you have to locate first such area), put the battery and coverd lid again, and try to power it on. You can add a 2nd or 3rd layer of tape to depress such switch.

3. Broken cover lid. Check that is not broken in any part or corne rof it. If it's so, then replace it.

4. Defective switch.

Unfortunately is necessary to open the PDA and check with a continuity (or ohm meter) the performance of such swicth, which is easy but usually a technician does it.

You have the option of send it to be repaired, or try it yourself, which will require to buy a switch part, or pulled it from a PDA with possible working switch or the whole mainboard (or the mainboard alone) and swap the parts. It requires a minimum of technical skills to do it.
