HP Creative Sound Blaster Audigy 5.1 - Page 4 Questions & Answers
I have an hp presario, but I forgot my password and cant access my computor.
If you have forgotten your password and do not have a password reset disk, there are a few options you can try to regain access to your computer. Here are some of the methods you can use:
- Use the built-in administrator account: Windows has a hidden administrator account that can be used to reset your password. To access this account, restart your computer and press F8 before Windows starts. Select "Safe Mode with Command Prompt" and log in as the administrator. Then, open the command prompt and type "net user [username] *". Replace [username] with your account username and press Enter. Follow the prompts to create a new password.
- Use a password reset tool: There are several password reset tools available online that can help you reset your password. One popular tool is called Ophcrack, which can be used to recover your password by cracking the password hash. You can download Ophcrack from its official website and create a bootable USB or CD to use on your computer.
- Reinstall Windows: If you are unable to reset your password using the above methods, you can reinstall Windows. This will erase all data on your computer, so make sure to backup any important files before proceeding. To reinstall Windows, insert your Windows installation disc or USB and restart your computer. Follow the prompts to install Windows and create a new user account with a new password.
Note: These methods should only be used to reset a password on a computer that you own or have permission to access. Resetting someone else's password without their permission is *******.

Internet Adapter issue, it keeps losing network.
Question edited to tidy up the written English.
I have this issue on a wired Desktop computer that uses a plug in gadget that takes the internet from my basement rec room where the television and router is and sends it via the house wiring to the 3rd floor where the computer is.
Put the App Speedtest on your smartphone and run it when the computer network drops out. My 50mbps internet drops to 11.6 or worse. Not sure why Bell Canada has this issue, but I notice my Internet is now labelled 'Century Link'.

Where do I connect P6 and P7 for my HP 6000? CD-Rom is not working.
The P6 and P7 connectors you found inside your HP 6000 tower are indeed related to the CD/DVD drive. They are typically used to provide power and data connections to the drive. Here's how you can connect them properly:
1. Power Connection (P6): The P6 connector is usually a 4-pin Molex power connector. It provides power to the CD/DVD drive. Locate a corresponding power socket on the back of the CD/DVD drive. It should have four pins and match the shape of the P6 connector. Connect the P6 connector to the power socket on the drive. Ensure it is securely attached.
2. Data Connection (P7): The P7 connector is usually a 40-pin IDE or SATA data connector, depending on the type of CD/DVD drive installed. Locate the corresponding data socket on the back of the CD/DVD drive. It should have either a 40-pin IDE connector or a smaller SATA connector. Connect the P7 connector to the data socket on the drive. Make sure it is properly aligned and securely connected.
After connecting both the power (P6) and data (P7) connectors, you can close the tower and start the computer. Windows should then detect the CD/DVD drive, and it should appear in the Device Manager. If the drive is still not recognized, there might be additional factors at play, such as driver issues or hardware problems with the drive itself.
If the CD/DVD drive continues to have issues or is not recognized by the system, it may be necessary to troubleshoot further or consider replacing the drive if it is no longer functioning properly.
Please note that the exact connector types and locations may vary depending on the specific model and configuration of your HP 6000 desktop computer. If you have difficulty locating the appropriate connectors or need further assistance, it is recommended to refer to the computer's user manual or contact HP's customer support for precise instructions tailored to your specific model.
Password of HP LE1901w monitor
It is unlikely that your HP LE1901w monitor has a password, as monitors do not typically have password protection. If you are unable to access the settings or menu on your monitor, it may be due to a different issue, such as a faulty control panel or a problem with the cable or connection to the computer.
To troubleshoot this issue, you can try the following steps:
- Check the connections between the monitor and the computer to ensure they are secure and functioning properly.
- Try using a different cable or a different input on the monitor to see if the problem persists.
- Check the monitor's control panel and buttons to see if there is any damage or if they are not functioning properly.
- If the problem persists, you may need to contact the manufacturer or a qualified technician for assistance.
If you are unable to access the settings or menu on your monitor, you may want to consult the user manual or contact the manufacturer for further assistance.
I need help with repairing HP z74 CRT monitor with power failure...
If your HP z74 CRT monitor is not turning on, there could be several potential causes. Some common causes of power failure in CRT monitors include:
- A faulty power supply: The power supply is responsible for providing power to all the components of the monitor, so if it is not functioning properly, the monitor will not turn on. You can test the power supply by using a multimeter to measure the voltage at the output connectors. If the voltage is not within the expected range, the power supply may need to be replaced.
- A faulty flyback transformer: The flyback transformer is a critical component of a CRT monitor, as it converts the high voltage AC input from the power supply into the low voltage DC output required by the other components of the monitor. If the flyback transformer is faulty, the monitor will not turn on. You can test the flyback transformer by using a multimeter to measure the voltage at the output terminals. If the voltage is not within the expected range, the flyback transformer may need to be replaced.
- A faulty or blown fuse: The fuse is a safety device that protects the monitor from damage due to excessive current. If the fuse is blown, the monitor will not turn on. You can test the fuse by using a multimeter to measure the resistance across the fuse. If the resistance is very high or infinite, the fuse is blown and will need to be replaced.
To diagnose the specific cause of the power failure on your HP z74 CRT monitor, you may need to open the monitor and perform some basic tests using a multimeter. This will help you identify the specific problem and take the appropriate steps to fix it. It is important to note that working on electronic equipment can be dangerous, so if you are not familiar with electronics repair, it is best to seek the assistance of a qualified professional.
