Check transmission bypass rod is fully pushed in. If there are signs of transmission fluid leaks it may be low on fluid. Leaks will need corrected. The transmission is considered "sealed" so there is no service information in the manual.

are the safety switches working also check fuse housing not cracked or damaged

You would need to remove the mower deck so you can gain access to underside of the frame so can check the drive belt path.

Remove the starter, clean and lubricate the bendix, (the spiral grooves) and also check that the return spring isn't broken.

Open the filter drain and turn key to first position. This should run the fuel tank transfer pump and fuel should come out the filter drain.

If you don't hear the fuel pump run then you'll need to investigate why it's not powered at first key position.

I was looking at one the other day on. line i just googled my ride on and found it . Or you can look on utube there some good vidoes on there .

Is there a button to stop and start blades turning ? if so check that out its in the on postion it will not start .

Check rod (14) is attached from the pedal shaft to the transmission.

Bevel the end of a small punch and try to pry up the end of the key or lightly tap the punch with a light ball peen.

Or try vice grip pliers to get a better hold of the key and wiggle it loose. You can protect the key from the vice grip with a piece of emery cloth, grit side toward key.

The actual clutch mechanism is right underneath the mower on the pulley system

An aftermarket substitute AM39888 (NOT JOHN DEERE) is available for less than $25 US on Amazon or eBay.

You will need to transfer the elbow from the original draglink or purchase a replacement in addition.
