Will only run for 10 secs then stops, if throttle is opened when it runs, it stops immediately

Spark plug was dirty and covered with burnt oil.
I cleaned with steel brush. Worked like magic.

To avoid this, do not overfill oil above second mark

Blower starts, runs for about 5 seconds and cuts off...will not restart until it cools down again...already replaced the carburetor...Blew air through fuel hose to make sure it's clear.

Remove the muffler, start it up. If it runs without shutting off then your exhaust has carbon build up. Most of the time it's better to replace the exhaust.

Pull chord spool is slipping past metal fitting so it won't start. It clicks past the metal.

Get inside the pull housing. Check for lose or broken parts.

Have makita demo saw with auto decompression but will not decompress when trying to start

If your Makita demo saw has an auto decompression feature but is not decompressing when attempting to start, there could be a few potential causes for this issue. Here are a few things you can check:
  1. Check that the decompression valve is functioning properly. It could be clogged or stuck and not allow the engine to decompress.
  2. Check the air filter. A dirty air filter can restrict airflow to the engine, making it difficult for the saw to start. Clean or replace the air filter as needed.
  3. Check the spark plug. A fouled or worn spark plug can also make it difficult for the saw to start. Clean or replace the spark plug as needed.
  4. Check the fuel filter. A clogged fuel filter can restrict fuel flow to the engine, making it difficult for the saw to start. Clean or replace the fuel filter as needed.
  5. Check the carburetor. A dirty or clogged carburetor can restrict airflow and fuel flow to the engine, making it difficult for the saw to start. Clean or rebuild the carburetor as needed.
  6. Check the fuel level. If the saw runs out of fuel, it will not start. Make sure the fuel tank is filled with fresh fuel.
It's worth mentioning that if the saw is still under warranty, it is best to contact Makita's customer service and ask for assistance. If you are not comfortable working with the engine, it is best to consult a professional or refer to the service manual for your specific saw.
