i have problem in my laptop hp pavilion dv1000 webcam not work

Double check that the CAPS Lock isn't on and also check for the status of the NUM Lock.

Run a system restore back to factory default setting.

Start system and hold down the f11 key till it rings a bell.

This will start the restore program.

Follow the system prompt. But remember to backup your documents and files.

I'm afraid that if the keys "keep coming off" then the very small bits of plastic that keep them down have permanently broken (very common) and that you must replace the keyboard. Page 5-28 of this document from HP explains how to replace the keyboard of that model.

Go into your Audio Sound Properties and make sure the Microphone is set as a recording device.

It appears that you inverter has gone out. Though you can try to use the Function Keys to see if brightness increases, but typically that invertor goes out after several years.

HP is bad for motherboard problems, sub out the ram one at a time, this may cure the problem, remove the hard drive and reseat back into place, sometimes this works, it is possible window files have become corrupted causing blue screen of death.

You have to get Intel 82801 drivers for windows XP before you install sp3..

I have the same problem on an HP Pavilion dv1000. 
This is what I have discovered. The properties of the webcam (contrast/brightness etc) are not available via Windows anywhere that I can find.
However if you install Skype you can access these properties, its free, its a good voip client and you can turn off the autoload at startup. Go to Tools > Options > Video Settings and you will see a button marked "Webcam Settings" under the "Select webcam:" dropdown. Click on this and you have access to the webcam properties, I found checking the Low Light option on the Advanced tab makes the webcam image much brighter, you can play with the other settings but I didnt bother.
If you then go to My Computer > HP Webcam you will see that the webcam is also brighter there, this seems to be the case even if you exit Skype. Haven't tested it in other apps but it should work ok.

You could have a broken power socket where the charger plugs in to the laptop. If the battery is flat and the socket is broken or loose then it wont charge and will be completely dead. If the socket is ok then it should power up with just the charger plugged in, even without the battery plugged in. You could also have a broken wire in the plug on the charger, the end that plugs in to the laptop.
