You have to look for a bad connection on MB. You have a broken trace from openning and closing. You need micro-soldering iron to fix it.

Gather your supplies. There are commercial kits available, but a can of compressed air, a lint-free cloth or wipes, mild dishwashing liquid, and a vacuum cleaner with a soft brush are all you really need for a basic cleaning. After turning off your computer and unplugging your keyboard, gently shake the keyboard upside down over some newspaper to dislodge loose crumbs and particles. Use the can of compressed air to blow a stream of air between the keys. Repeat Step 2. Dampen a lint-free cloth with a diluted solution of dishwashing liquid and water to wipe down the keys. Use the vacuum cleaner brush attachment to **** away any remaining dirt or debris.

Turn the computer the only thing that light up is

Most cases there is no need to replace the motherboard. Try to find out what component has burned and replace it. If the main power supply to the inverter board had shorted, then, the supply giving FET may be burned. You may see as it burned. If the inverter activating device ( a small FET) had burned, you can also see it. In some systems there is a fuse for the inverter supply in inverter board as well as on the motherboard. You can also identify it.Make a reply if this is helpful.

RESTORE YOUR COMPUTER! This just happened to me and i looked up and tried EVERYTHING! Since my wifi button had only stopped working 2 days ago, I restored my computer to 4 days prior because I was told that sometimes without you even knowing you allow stuff to get on your computer whenever you get online which could cause your computer to turn functions off automatically. My wifi button actually stopped working after I went into a mcdonalds with my computer an used their wifi so I think me allowing their wifi onto my computer did something to it because when I took it home the button was just red altogether and it was SOOO frustrating. But as soom as I restored it, my computer came back on and a little window popped up saying "Your wifi is currently off, toggle your wifi key to turn it on/off". I was so happy! The simpliest thing that no one would ever think of.

I have an HP Pavilion dv1000 that I upgraded to

The video chipset for that model seems to be the Intel 82852/82855 GM/GME Graphics Controllers Driver, which you can get from the Intel website. Windows 7 should also have a built in driver for that as well, since that chipset is very common.
