Taking apart

What's the question? Just take it apart and remember where things go. Use cups for the screws and label them. Also a digital camera would be helpful.

Boot from usb

When you first boot up change the order in which your computer looks for instructions eg most computers look to C drive for start up in structions. Set one of your usb sockets to any given letter.Record your starting data on a pen drive and put it in the named usb port. Change your computer so that instead of looking for C drive it looks for the named usb drive. I use this operate different operating systems on the same computer.

Please insert a disk into the cd drive

How can you get a wireless signal if there is no operating system? Exactly what happens when you press the power button to turn the computer on? Does it boot up and your only problem is you cannot connect to the internet? Have you turned the Wireless Switch on that is located at the front or on the side of the laptop? Let's start with Internet Options. If you have Windows XP Click Start/Control Panel/Internet Options. If you have Windows Vista or Windows 7 click Start/Control Panel/Network and Internet/Internet Options. When the Internet Options window opens on the General Tab make sure you have a valid web address as the Home Page. If not, create a simple Home Page by typing: http://www.google.com You don't have to click OK now because if you do the Internet Options window will close. Click the Security Tab and under where it says "select a zone to view or change settings" Click on the one that says Internet, then scroll down to near the bottom right and make sure that DEFAULT is grayed out (whereas you cannot click on it). You can Click on Default just to be sure. Next click the Intranet so that it is highlighted and make sure DEFAULT is grayed out so that you cannot click on it. Do the same thing for the other two zones (Trusted Sites and Restricted Sites). After all zones under the Security Tab are set to Default click the next Tab which is the Privacy tab. On the Privacy Tab you want to make sure that DEFAULT is grayed out, if not click on it. When in doubt just click the Default tab. Next skip over the Content tab and proceed to click the Connections Tab. On the Connections Tab make sure that the Never Dial A Connection is checked if you have something in the white box above it in for Dialup and Virtual Private Networks settings. Look down on the right near the bottom and Click the LAN SETTINGS button. When Lan Settings open up the only box that should be checked is the very first box that says: Automatically Detect Settings. If any other box is checked remove the check from it or you will never be able to connect. Click OK to close the LAN SETTINGS tab. Next skip over the Programs tab and click the Advanced tab. When it opens slide the blue bar on the right all the way down until you get to the bottom of the window. You want to be able to make sure that if you see something like (Use SSL 2.0, Use SSL 3.0, Use TSL 1.0) that you put a check in the box to the left of each one of them. Afterwards you can click OK to close the Internet Options Window. Next lets go boot your computer in Safe Mode. Go to www.google.com and in the search box type:"Download cnet Malwarebytes" (without the quotes). Download andinstall malwarebytes from the sites download.cnet/malwarebytes. When the site opens up click on the Green Download button on the left. Do not click the Red Download button, that's junk. When it finishes installing the Gui Interface will open up with an offer to Accept a Trial Version or Decline. CLICK DECLINE you want the totally free version. Run a QUICK SCAN. As it scans, if it finds infections the number will be in red. When it finishes scanning, click SHOW RESULTS. A notepad text document will open up showing you the results. You can close the text document and go back to the Gui Interface where you will click

How to instal window XP into Acer aspire T180

The Aspire T180's single-core 2.4GHz AMD Athlon 64 3800+ processor and 1GB of RAM hamper its performance right out of the box, keeping it from being even a passable fit with the Windows Vista Home Premium OS we've seen on other budget machines. (The Aspire ships with Vista Home Basic.) The 160GB hard drive is also on the small side, and the nVidia GeForce 6100/nForce 430 MCP integrated graphics are not exactly top-notch tech, either. You do, however, get a few bonuses. The software selection includes a 90-day trial of Norton AntiVirus 2006, as well as CyberLink PowerDVD, NTI CD-Maker Gold, and Acer's own performance, recovery, and security tools. And the PC does offer good expandability. Two RAM slots are free, as are an external 5.25-inch drive bay, three internal hard drive bays, two PCI Express (PCIe) slots (one x1 and one x16), and one PCI 2.2 slot. (A modem occupies a second PCI slot.) So it's possible to bump up the Aspire T180's power a bit with some carefully chosen components.

To load Win XP simply select CD-ROM BOOT option from BIOS(hit DEL / F2 key while starting up power), insert a bootable WinXP SP 2/3 CD, depending on it being Genuine Microsoft product or a cracked ver.). When prompted to hit any key, do so & follow instructions on the screen. This is assuming you are doing so for the first time, make 2/3 partitions, else re-install on 'C' Drive after formatting it. Use NTFS partition option. If any probs, pl write back & I'll give more detailed instructions.

My Laptop Pavilion dv4000 keyboard keys locked

If the keys are not responsive, then you will need to replace the laptop. Your laptop manufacturer should be able to sell you a replacement part as well as instructions on replacing it. In the mean time, you can plug in a regular keyboard to the laptop to get full keyboard functionality.

I have an HP ZD8000

I would recommend to disconnect all external devices and also internal cards and devices (hard drive, cd rom driver etc) just have your motherboard processor keyboard and power supply connectors and front pannel connectors press the power button and watch the keyboard, if it flashes the lights twice or once. if once turn off the power and then remove your ram modules and turn on check if you get beeps from the motherboard buzzers, if not its is evident that the motherboard or processor is definitely bad. you need to check and replace them.

some times even a bad power supply with less supply of voltage cause this if you have another power supply (SMPS) unit check with it.
