Use an air gap tool. Clean the area where the coil mounts on the engine with emory cloth to make sure you get a good ground. install the coil and lightly tighten screws (just over finger tight) slide in the air gap tool and align the coil, make sure both legs of the coil are even on the tool. Snug the screws and recheck the gap.

The best way is with an air gap tool. Most Husqvarna saws run a 0.3 mm or .012" air gap.

There is not a method to set timing. The flywheel is keyed for location. The ignition module can be moved slightly but the effect will be minimum. If you are having backfires or think timing is wrong. Check the key and make sure it is not sheared.

Slide a 0.25 feeler guage between the flywheel and the ignition module.

The air gap between the coil and the flywheel magnets should be set at 0.3mm

The air gap between the unit and the flywheel should be 0.3mm for the Husqvarna 45

Your seat safety switch is not working. If the seat switch isn't activated, ie. a person sitting on the seat, the safety system will stop the engine when the levers are engaged. There is probably only one lever safety switch, on the right lever, which is why the left one doesn't kill the engine. Check the seat switch continuity and the wiring for loose connections.
