Did you enable color printing in the printer properties. You may just have grey-scale enabled.

Print cartridges might be improperly installed. Remove the print cartridge for the color that is printing inconsistently and reinstall it. im sure you tried this already, but thats from the manual. also check your settings in the computer verify greyscale is not selected. also. Then try a test page. if all else fails Try this The NVRAM reset is done by powering off the machine. Press and hold the Go button. Turn the printer on and continue to hold the Go button. After the Go, Ready, and Attention LED's tuirn on, continue holding for at least 20 seconds. During this process, the Attention, Ready and Go LED's will each turn off. Release the Go button. The device LEDs will begin cycling from front to back. The NVRAM init process runs unitl the printer is in the Ready state.

I have the same prolem...Do you just reselve?

listen to rotation, periodically/quickly open the lid while in rotation, make take a few attempts. i had this problem and powered it off after i "faked" the printer into doing what i needed, goodluck

Switch it on and load paper.
Press the red and green buttons together, and several pages should print out, test page, config page, and perhaps a EIO or network config page.
The second page should show the page count.

Also try with another USB cable, If you are using a long cable, just try with a short one.

isn't there a panel on the back you can remove?

have the labels exit at the back of the printer

Swap all toner carts on both machines. Sounds like a toner cart problem

are you trying to print via the LAN if so goto the www.hp.com
web site and down load the latest network print driver, also make
sure your windows has the latest drivers installed, Hope this helps

Have you tried to clean the contacts on tonercartridges and the opposite HV contacts in printer? The contacts are on the left side of toner cartridges

Problems may have regarding pressor roller

It's a long shot, but there may be some paper stuck inside the toner cartridge. This happens occasionally. Be careful not to scratch the blue photo drum! Try replacing the cartridge.
