Erase hard drive hp1055

In service test menu scroll to "3.Hard disc drive", & press enter, if test drive passed don't replace the hard disc or modification or changes. If test failed then check as shown below:1 Switch the printer OFF. Remove the EIO Card (if installed) and re-install the Hard Disk Drive making sure it installed correctly by pushing it firmly inwards and checking that the two installation screws are completely tightened. Switch the printer ON again and repeat the Hard Disk Drive Test. If the Hard Disk Drive Test fails again then replace the Hard Disk Drive.2 If the Hard Disk Drive Test passed after removing the EIO Card, then switch the Printer OFF and reinstall the EIO Card, making sure that the two installation screws are completely tightened.Switch the Printer ON again and repeat the Hard Disk Drive Test. If the Hard Disk Drive Test fails, then the EIO Card could be faulty.Replace the EIO Card.3 If the Hard Disk Drive Test continues to fail after replacing the EIO card or the Hard Disk Drive, then replace the Electronics Module..I am having little knowledge, if I am wrong Pl don't comment, pl forgive me.

9.. Press the Up Arrow key until BOOTP=xxx (where xxx = Yes or No) is displayed and press ENTER.

Check printhead path

Check for free carriage motion by unplugging the printer while the carriage is in the print area of the plotter. Open the top cover and move the carriage to check for free movement. If there are rubber crumbs under the belt, the belt is worn out and needs to be replaced. Manual can be downloaded from: www.lpscomputer.com/ec/manuals.htm
Parts available at: http://www.lpscomputer.com/c-736-designjet-1050c-belt.aspx

Dead hard drive in 1055CM DesignJet Plotter to replace

you can run this printer without an hdd. disconnect the power from the hdd.you may have to disconnect the IDE controller (the small board that connects to the main pca) and disconnect the flat grey cable. this makes your DJ1055CM a DJ1050C it should print okay. you cannot format any hdd to work. you must buy the hdd from HP. if you can find one. good luck and i hope this helped.

1055CM WITH BAD BLACK PRINT HEAD DISPLAY

more than likely the slot in your carriage assembly is faulty. try cleaning the contacts on the carriage assembly if that doesn't help, than more than likely you need to replace the carriage assembly and also the trailing cables. if you are going to keep this printer for awhile than you should also replace the carriage belt. if you can find a certified hp repair person, the cost should be around $500-600.
