I have to ask this question of you, just to make sure this is not an issue. Are you using a factory new ink or toner cartridge?
Please consider the following:
If you are using a refilled (the absolute worst possible choice) or third party cartridges (2nd. Worst possible choice) that may well be your problem. Most manufacturers build logic into their products to prevent the use of “Other Equipment Manufactured” cartridges as well as re-filled cartridges.
They do this to prevent problems from contaminated inks or toner causing problems with print quality or damaging the physical printhead or photo conductors.
If you are using factory new ink or toner cartridges, then please call the manufacturer’s Technical Support for assistance with the warranty on the cartridges

Have you tried a new toner? if yes, did you remove the entire plastic sealing strip before installing it? sometimes it can break and stay inside toner. if you did not pull out a strip of plastic about 14" long, you might need a new toner.

Go to www.hp.com and let the website detect your printer and download the drivers automatically.

The problem is likely the fusing assm.
This is the test to determine toner or fuser issue.
Print a test page
When you hear the paper feed into the machine open the top to stop the machine
Remove the toner cart.
You should be able to see the page with printing on it. (This is before the page hits the fuser)
If you can see the smudge or marks on the page the problem is most likely the cartridge but NOT the fuser.
If the page is clean the problem is most likely the fuser.

Is printer being recognized by network? What does device manager indicate? If there is a Yellow exclamation point, you need an updated driver. Try uninstalling software, removing access cable to printer and reinstalling software then re-connecting printer cable.

I would suggest, print a diagnostic page from the printer, what IP address does it show? It is on the same network as your computers? If not then it will require changing the printer to either DHCP or giving it a static IP within the same range as your other workstations.

Press the CHECK button. Scroll down to the I/O menu to change the IP address or use the JetDirect utility to make changes.

Right click on the printer icon in Control Panel and choose properties.
