A bit of paper had jammed under the print heads and damaged them. The paper was removed and the print heads were replaced.

Try performing a scan. Probably the scanner or the scanner flat cable is damaged.

Close the rear door to allow the printer to attempt to clear the jam message. 1. Click and select. (Settings) > Devices > Printers & scanners.
2. Select your product and click Manage.
3. Click Printer properties.
4. Select the Ports tab.
5. Select the Enable bidirectional support checkbox and click OK.
