Hi, will not print or feed paper in. All lights

See its not that much a problem with the carriage moving(cartridges moving back and forth in the carriage station).

It's basically the rollers at the front of the printer which are attached to a rod.
Now when you give a print command the hardware card of the printer recognises the command and that rod which holds the rollers comes down and then the paper is picked now this may not be a resolution however this is what you can try.
With the printer On pull out the power cable from the back of the printer and then the walljack.
Wait for 30 seconds or more so that your printer is resetted to a basic factory state and then plug in the cable to the wall and then to the printer once it powers on try to print if it still doesn't then you have a hardware problem on your hand and the printer is old.
Also follow this document and see if this helps :

But call in to hp at 1800-474-6836 and ask them for the upgrade options which you will get at a 50-60% discount or above depending on the printer and you will get an Carepack that will save your printer from falling into a hardware problem for $1 (80-90% discount).

I know this isn't exactly a resolution but if you feel that I have atleast replied to your post I would appreciate any amount of thumbs up ,if you think it's really helpful then please reward me with a 4 thumbs up.

Thanks!

Does not print in black

Hello,

Here are some solutions for you to try.

Make sure that the plastic protective tape on the new black cartridge is off. This is a simple mistake that many of us have made. Also, make sure the cartridge has been put in place properly.
Perform a head cleaning on printer and do a printer alignment.
If you are using a re-fill, try using the manufacturer's ink cartridge.

Hope this helps

My printer won't print anything - only blank

If the self-cleaning cycle does not solve the problem, try turning the printer off overnight to allow the ink to soften. Turn the printer on the next day and try printing a test pattern to see whether the problem has either disappeared or become less noticeable. This ink-saving procedure can work effectively because sometimes the dried ink on the print head needs time to soften before the printer head can be cleaned completely. Try running the self-cleaning utility again one or more times.
Steps for Manually Cleaning the Printer Head

If the overnight cleaning still does not work, there may be a layer of thick ink that is blocking the holes of the printer's head. The next option is to manually clean the printer head. Follow these steps:

* Determine from the owner's manual where the print head is located.
* Remove the ink cartridge from your printer and then dip a cotton swab in hot water or isopropyl alcohol and rub it against the print head. This should loosen any crusted ink. NOTE: Be careful, especially if you use isopropyl alcohol to clean your print heads: Some printers use rubber gaskets, and if you get isopropyl alcohol on the gaskets it could dry them out.
* For models where the print head is in the printer, drop 7 to 10 drops of isopropyl alcohol (91% denatured isopropyl alcohol - not 'rubbing' alcohol) down the ink receptacle area where the ink actually flows from the cartridge into the head. Run a few self-cleaning utilities. If possible, allow the printer to sit a few hours or overnight and repeat the self-cleaning utility.
* If the print head is in the cartridge, soak the cartridge print head in hot water. Allow it to soak overnight. Dry the print head area with a paper towel. Repeat the self-cleaning utility.
* If the hot water soak did not unclog the print head, place the cartridge printer head in isopropyl alcohol and allow it to soak overnight. Use a damp paper towel to wipe off the print head area and dry carefully. Try the self-cleaning utility again.
* If the alcohol soak did not unclog the print head in the cartridge you may need to purchase a new cartridge. This will provide new print heads that won't be clogged. Contact a service technician for repair of print heads in the printer if the alcohol did not unclog the printer head.

There is a dark gray flexable flat plastic cable

This is the "belt" that pulls the print-heads across the page, as the page prints, line by line.

I recommend that you take the printer to a qualified technician, to see if it can be replaced. However, the cost for the technician's time could be LARGER than the cost for buying a new printer.

Keep getting error The Print Cartridge Cradle

no.is not ...probably it is something wrong with the cartridges ..either damaged or the cradle is stuck for some reason ...take them out again ..and check with care and see what can be wrong ...pay attention on the mounting in back ...and try again ...I suspect that the alignment of the cradle was not in the right place ..and thats why it is stuck...just try to get it out ..or move it from a side...a little..
Anyway after that if it has reset for drumm in the menu ..make all the resets available ...even for counter ..and see if it work s....
if it is not ...probably the cartridges are damaged...if you just refilled them and not used a new ones it may happen during the process..
