I put a new ink cartridge in my HP Officejet J3640
this is why hp always insists on genuine cartridges. i was going to a storefront inkjet refilling place but with the electronics inside these cartridges, once you use it up, the circuit can be fried. it sounds to me like the internal circuit is done. you may be able to return to vendor

Try resetting the printer using following steps:
1. When your printer is on, unplug the wire that goes to the computer.
2. Presee and release (#) and (*) buttons.

3. Scrolls to the right until you see "resets" and pess ok
4. Select "semi-full reset" and hit OK

I have hp officejet 6210 problem with paper not loading
Turn off the HP product and turn it around so the back of the unit faces you.
·Disconnect the power cord from the back of the all-in-one. The power cord must be disconnected to allow the paper feed rollers to turn freely.
·Locate the rear access door and then open it by turning the dial counter-clockwise and then pulling the door toward you.
·Inspect the pressure rollers on the rear access door and verify that they are clean and turn freely. Clean the rollers if needed with a soft towel lightly moistened with water. If the rollers do not turn freely, replace the rear access door.

·From the rear access door opening, remove the jammed paper. If some of the jammed paper cannot be removed from the rear access opening, carefully remove it from the front of the unit.
·Remove the remaining paper from the paper supply tray. Discard any paper that is damaged or crumpled and then re-stack and reload the paper into the paper supply tray.
·Reinstall the rear access door.
·Reconnect the power cord to the unit and turn the unit on.
Vertical alignment
Usually this is asked when the printer is using more than one page of paper to print what the word processor shows as 1 page. This is fixed in the word processor program print set up module that opens when you click Print.
If you really want to change the vertical alignment of the print heads, then you need a different printer.

You can find these printers at yard sales, thrift stores and recycle locations, if you don't find one at any of these locations, check Ebay for parts or printers. I would not take it tp a repair location as these printers have some age and replacing them is a better option. Good Luck.
