Windows 7 will just have the printer drivers for this unit by default. If you want to be able to scan, you should install the full version of the drivers which is available from the HP website. Just search for your model number, select the operating system, download and install.

'Handle is invalid' appears when

run hp print diagnostic utility http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c02072599&cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en&product=421991&tmp_track_link=ot_search
instructions on how to run it are included in that link.
if it does not fix your problem I strongly suggest you uninstall the hp printer software from your computer and reinstall it.if you still have the cd installer, insert it in the cd drive and select uninstall.if you do not have the disk uninstall it using add/remove (win xp) features or programs and features (for vista or win 7).make sure to uninstall all hp programs associated with your officejet 6210 (driver series,hp customer participation program, imaging device functions, shop for hp supplies,hp yahoo toolbar,hp image zone.hp memories disc,hp update,hp smart web printing,hp photosmart essentials). NOTE:uninstall programs enumerated above only when you have that printer installed on your pc because uninstalling them may affect the functionalities of other printers installed on your computer. handle is invalid error is caused by a dll file that got corrupted. after the uninstall, restart pc. then reinstall using the same cd or better yet download the latest version of software. here's the link for that.

Why do I have a line down the middle of my scan

Hi,

Check the feeder slot for any debris (paper, correction fluid etc.)
Also open the lid so check the platen glass. to the far left should be a narrow strip of glass seperate from the main plate. make sure there are no marks on this, usually correction fluid or ink from ballpens likes to get smeared on here when using the feeder causing a perma black object to be scanned for copying / scanning. hence the mark on the copy / scan.

Wipe carefully with a warm, damp cloth and some window cleaning detergent to remove any marks from there.

When you removed the jammed paper, did the paper come out inone piece, if not did all the pieces that were removed make up the entire sheetof paper?
Otherwise there may be still a small piece/s of paper still in the printer, which is causing this error message. When the paper does not feeding straight, dirty or stickyrollers can cause it, also failure to remove all traces of paper from aprevious paper jamb will cause further paper jambs.
Check for tiny pieces of at the edges of the rollers, and remove these piecesof paper.
Try cleaning the rollers with methylated spirits

When I try to print I get an error message scanner

Hi there.. Regarding with your issue, one of the possible reasons why is that the printer is saying that it's because there might be a big chance that there is something wrong with the scanner bulb of your printer that can lead into a hardware failure.. now here's the document that you will need to follow to resolved the issue.open this link:http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c00587971&cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en&product=421991&tmp_track_link=ot_search#N82now after doing all the steps on the website and if it didn't help, then do a semi full reset by unplugging the power cord from the back and then press the # and the number 6 at the same time while the power is off..after a few seconds reconnect the power cord from the back of the printer while still holding those buttons up until you see something on the screen of the printer saying "nvm reset" something like that..but still after doing a reset and it didn't fix the problemthen the printer is having a hardware failure or in other words it become faulty.if you have any questions, dont hesitate to reply on this message..Goodluck!!!

I have a Lexmark P6250

The Lexmark P6250 is an "all-in-one" Printer/Scanner/Copier, but does not include hard-line fax capability.

Unfortunately, there came a time when the manufacturers began referring to any printer/scanner/copier as an "all-in-one" whether it included direct faxing or not. Many of them do not, which makes for a very confusing purchase!

The user's guide (which can be found at www.lexmark.com) gives a basic overview of how to fax using their included software, but in order to do so, you will need to have a dial-up fax modem in your computer, or some kind of internet fax service.

Hope this is helpful!

We lost the powercord...can we

If you mean the power cord from the wall AC outlet to the power module, you can find those any place that sells computers. It's a standard 3-prong power cord used on almost everything now. If you mean the power module that connects to the printer, it's available direct from HP, but it's also available from many eBay sellers and other sources at a much lower price. Search eBay for "Q7310-60003", the part number, and you'll find a bunch to choose from.

Hi there.

I believe you are looking for the HP Director program which may have been deleted when windows did an update. You can re install this program if you still have the HP Printer CD that came with it.
You can also go to this site, choose your operating system and click on PRODUCT INSTALLATION SOFTWARE. Click the FULL FEATURE SOFTWARE AND DRIVER BUNDLE and you can install HP DIRECTOR from there. HP director does not come as a separate download but it is part of the software bundle.

Hope this helps.

Thank you for using Fixya!

Try cleaning your print nozzles and then running a cartridge alignment.

Press menu and use the up and down arrows to scroll until you see maintenance. then press enter or ok. Continue scrolling until you see clean print heads or clean print nozzles. Then press enter or ok again. Follow the prompts on the printers display to run both functions. That should solve your problem.

Is there a way to retrieve and print a fax on the

First of all, here is the direct link to the ONLINE USER'S MANUAL for that model:

http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c00238458.pdf

To view the Owner's Manual with Operating Instructions just use your mouse to click on the link, which is the underlined and highlighted text just above. This will open a new web browser page automatically for you and allow you to view the information at the website indicated and the contents of the Owner's Manual.

You may need ADOBE READER installed on your computer to read PDF documents. You can download this free at WWW.ADOBE.COM if necessary. Click on the DOWNLOAD ADOBE READER button on right side of the ADOBE home page when you get there, and then just follow the onscreen instructions to install it.

See page 95 of the ONLINE USER'S MANUAL for detailed instructions on how to REPRINT FAXES FROM MEMORY.

Basically it reads:

Make sure you have paper loaded in the input tray.
Press Setup.
Press 6, and then press 4.
This selects Tools and then selects Reprint Faxes in Memory.
The faxes are printed in the reverse order they were received with the most recently received fax printed first, and so on.
If you do not need a fax that is printing, press Cancel.
The HP all-in-one begins printing the next fax in memory.
Note: You will need to press Cancel for each stored fax in order to stop it from printing.

Please comment back here to this page if you have any questions, have difficulty accessing the links, or just require further general assistance and I will respond as soon as I see it.

Thank you very much and good luck.
