41.3 Unexpected Paper Size Explanation

• The printer detected a paper size different than what it was expecting.
• This is typically caused if two or more sheets stick together in the printer, or if the paper tray is not properly adjusted.

Recommended action

1. Reload the tray with the correct paper size.
2. Ensure that paper in the tray is loaded under the front and back tabs.
3. When printing from tray 1, verify that the correct paper size is selected in the control panel (see the Paper Handling Menu section in the User Guide ).
4. When printing from tray 2, 3, or 4, verify that the three paper size adjustments on the paper tray have been made correctly (see the description of adjustments in the section on Loading Trays 2, 3, and 4 in the User Guide ).
5. After performing the actions above, press GO. The page containing the error will automatically be reprinted if jam recovery is enabled. Or, press CANCEL JOB to clear the print job from the printer's memory.

This can be a number of reasons however I would be looking for a piece of paper jammed in the printer somewhere. Is the printer giving an error message or code?
If you turn the printer off, disconnect the printer cable, wait 5 minutes & then turn the printer back on, does it then power up & go to ready?

This issue comes when your data proper transfer from your computer. 1 check data cable (USB or Lan cable)

Printer driver corrupted or needs updateing
Goto www.hp.com and install printer update tool

Looks like you have a clogged/possibly damaged heads and head alignment issues. Do the alignment procedure and check the manufacturer support website or Google for the factory reset button combination of the printer. Cheers, Mike.

I had this error too, i had 32 MB ram in the printer i took it out and put in a 64 MB chip in and the error went away.

Your toner cartridge is fubar.

the laser beam is block you need to open the printer and unjammed since every time you put a toner cartridge there is a fin that moves the cover over the laser or maybe you have a faulty cartridge that the fin is broken

I would love to see what the page looks like because I am sure that the word "soiled" doesn't quite mean the same to me as it does to you. See if you can't attach a picture or scan of the soiled side, and also see if you can rub the toner off the soiled side of the page.
Also provide tp/bottom/left/right half.

This is a firmware error, that may be caused by corrupt printjobs or network issues. Try to see if you can narrow down the problem to a specific application and also check the URL below for any firmware updates. The problem can also be caused by faulty firmware dimms, memory dimms, or a faulty formatter board, but the message normally persist when this is the case. Go to htpp://www.hp.com/ support/LJ4200 or htpp:// www.hp.com/support/ LJ4300. Select Download Drivers and Software. Check for the latest firmware image version at the bottom of the page. If this firmware image is newer than the one installed on your printer and your printer can receive a firmware update, download the newer firmware upgrade. Not all HP LaseJet 4200/ 4300 printers can receive firmware upgrades.

On your PC, clear the print queue. Power the printer on and see if the error reappears. If no, there was a corrupted print job in the queue. Power off printer, unplug the network cable, power on and see if error reappears. If yes, upgrade the firmware

Hi there sound to me like the toner cartridge is either faulty or leaking. Is it or has it been refilled if so remove cartridge vacuum out the insides of loose toner install brand new toner cartridge then test again. It cannot be the fuser unit as it will have quality problems all the time so try above and I hope it works for you.

Check the pick up rollers in the tray and look for signs of wear. Most likely this is your problem.

Your printer may be out of toner, or the drum is not transferring toner to the paper correctly. Try replacing the toner and/or drum in your LaserJet to see if the issue is resolved.

print quality problems are almost always the toner cartridge. Replace the toner to test.
