Drivers HP scanjet 4400c for windows 7

This worked for me:Do NOT connect scanner before these first few steps1. Download & save win xp drivers from HP website: http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareIndex.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodNameId=28447&prodTypeId=15179&prodSeriesId=28441&swLang=8&taskId=135&swEnvOID=228The 63.4mb file is the only one you'll need2. Right-click on the saved file and go to its properties. Under the compatibility tab, set the file to run with win xp service pack 3. Apply changes and close properties dialogue.3. Right click on the same file and choose 'run as administrator'. Accept any windows prompts that may appear and let the program & drivers install.4. Once the software has finished installing, connect the scanner to your computer (via USB) and turn the scanner on.5. Restart the computer without unplugging or turning the scanner off.6. Your scanner should now work fine with the HP Precisionscan Pro utility.

Hp scanjet 4570c + windows

Download Windows Vista version (32 bit or 64 bit) depending on your Windows 7/8.0/8.1 (32 bit or 64 bit) from: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?product=77368&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&lang=en&cc=us Then, extract the file that you download "setup_basic_4500_500.exe" using WinRAR to Desktop. Next, go to Control Panel then Device Manager. You will see the scanner "hp" under Other devices with error. Right click on it then select update driver software. Select Browse my computer for driver software. Click Browse and point it to the folder on your desktop that contains extracted files. You can make sure to check on include subfolders. That will install the driver perfectly fine under windows 8.1 in my case 64 bit.

How to clean the underside

This is acutally easier than it looks. I just had the same problem with a cloudy film starting to form underneath the glass on my older HP 4400C scanner.First completely remove the hinged top lid by lifting straight up on both long ends of the lid - notice the 2 hinges on the back end of the lid will come straight up and out of the body of the scanner, still attached to the lid.Next look down inside the 2 hinge holes (on the main body of the scanner where the lid hinges just came out of) and you will see a screw in each hole. Remove both screws using a phillips screwdriver. This will allow the rear end of the scanner to come apart enough so you can now lift it up a few inches to separate it and get your hand inside there to clean the underside of the glass with a soft cloth - BUT JUST REMEMBER THE FRONT END OF THE SCANNER WILL STILL BE CONNECTED, so don't pull it too far apart because it could snap and break something that is still holding the front end together. (I could not figure out how to separate the front end piece, and then I realized I didn't have to).So on the rear end of the scanner, now carefully pull the light upper colored plastic apart from the lower dark plastic just enough so you can get your hand inside the compartment and use a soft cloth to clean the underside of the glass. I just used a small piece of an old cotton t-shirt with a couple little dabs of water on it and then just kept rubbing the dirty areas on the underside of the glass over and over until all the dust film/streaks disappeared and the glass was once again clean and all clear. Then gently lower the glass back down and line up the plastic pieces together on the rear end and put the 2 screws back in the hinge holes, and then reinsert the hinges in their slots and lower the lid back on top of the scanner glass and it is ready to go again !!Hope this works for you like it did for me.

Scanner fails to start

The first thing to do is to establish if you have power to the unit.Does it make any sound when you turn it on or does the power light come on.If you have power to the unit it is more than likely a software problem. You need to delete the software from your p.c. and re-install it.If you dont have the original disc or if it is corrupt dont worry, just go www.hp.com you can download drivers for any hp product with updated software for free.
