Power is on but will not start after pushing start button.

Try the micro switch which is located on top of the door handle. Make sure it's not wet and has current going through. Otherwise it's the capacitor which is connected to the motor. They are cylinder shaped normally and feed the motor in order to start the cycle. Easy to replace and relatively cheap but make sure it's the same size when replacing. There's a number on the front and mF next to it. Hope this helps

Why is code 1co being displayed?

Good Afternoon David, thank you for your post! From the information you have provided your Frigidaire dishwasher is displaying an error code of "iC0" and you need help to reset it. The best way to reset the dishwasher is to disconnect power from it for at least ten minutes. An error code of "iC0" means that the dishwasher has detected a problem with the electronic control. You can also press and hold the cancel button for five seconds to see if that will clear the code out. If these steps do not help resolve your issue I would recommend contacting a professional technician. You can visit your manufacturer's website for assistance in locating a technician. Good luck! -Matt

When using the Quick Clean Cycle 48 min comes up but as soon as the machine starts it goes to 94 minutes. I want to 48 min cycle. My dishwasher was disconnected for a couple months during our kitchen

Thank you for your post, Sheri!

Based off the information you have provided your Frigidaire dishwasher is giving you longer time cycle then what you select. Inside of your dishwasher there is a soil sensor, when the water comes into your dishwasher the sensor picks up on the amount of dirt inside of the tub and will adjust the time if need be. You may need to perform a reset on your dishwasher and you can do that by flipping the household circuit breaker off for roughly ten minutes. If that does not help correct the issue you may need to replace that sensor or you could have a short within your control panel and that may need replacement. You may want to contact a professional technician for proper diagnosis and repair. Hopefully this information is helpful. -Matt

Why are the lights on the far right of the panel of the Frigidaire gallery dishwasher model #GLD8958A52 ?

Hi friend, thank you for your inquiry!

I understand that the panel on your Frigidaire dishwasher has lights on the far right side of the panel. I would recommend a reset on your dishwasher and you can do that by flipping the household circuit breaker in the off position for ten minutes. The lights on the right side of the panel could be providing a warning to inform the panel that something is wrong. A reset could provide an error code for further diagnosis. I hope this information has been helpful. -Matt

Spots on dishes

It depends on the kind of spots.
Hard water spots are just the result of minerals that were left behind when the water evaporated.
Food spots can be the result of food that was allowed to dry before putting the dishes in the dishwasher.
In general, a water softener can be quite helpful in reducing hard water spots, and can also help the dishwasher perform better.
Note too that recent changes in the formulation of dishwashing products has been a problem for people who do not have water softeners. Government mandates have recently restricted addition of phosphates in dishwashing products in many states. Phosphates were quite beneficial to the dishwashing process.
A water softener may be your best answer.

I have a frigidaire fgbd2438pbbb dishwasher that runs thru the wash cycle then stops and the air dry and high temp light flash. whats wrong?

Based on the symptoms you described, it's likely that there is an issue with the heating element or thermostat in your Frigidaire dishwasher. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:
  1. Check the heating element: The heating element is responsible for heating the water during the wash cycle and drying the dishes at the end of the cycle. If the element is faulty, the dishwasher may stop mid-cycle and display the flashing lights you described. Use a multimeter to test the continuity of the heating element. If there is no continuity, the heating element needs to be replaced.
  2. Check the thermostat: The thermostat is a safety device that prevents the dishwasher from overheating. If the thermostat is faulty, it may shut off the heating element prematurely, causing the dishwasher to stop mid-cycle. Test the thermostat using a multimeter. If it's not functioning properly, it needs to be replaced.
  3. Check the control board: If the heating element and thermostat are functioning properly, there may be an issue with the dishwasher's control board. A faulty control board can cause various issues, including the flashing lights you described. If this is the case, you may need to replace the control board.
If you're not comfortable performing these troubleshooting steps yourself, it's best to contact a qualified technician to diagnose and repair the issue.

Frigidaire Model FGID2466QF2A - Middle Spray arm is hitting larger dishes and may seem a bit wobbly. How do I move to provide clearance?

They should not wobble a lot. They have to be able to spin, but should not have a lot of lateral movement. See if you can remove the spray arm and clean out all the spray jets. If some are blocked at one side it causes the arm to not spin true and flat. It spin with one side high and one side low. The other problem may be incorrect loading of dishes. https://www.frigidaireapplianceparts.com/Shop-For-Parts/a9b2d2144302/Model-FGID2466QF2A-Frigidaire-Dishwasher-Parts ..

Frigidaire dishwasher stops after about 40 minutes. The latch to dispense the detergent does not open and the the ER code appears.

Error Code: ER

The Problem: There is a membrane switch failure, meaning one of the keys is throwing the wrong signal. This error can also be caused by a stuck key or a key pressed for longer than one minute. The Fix: Check the keys on the control panel and the wiring between the keypad and main control board. If you cannot identify and fix the issue, replace the keypad. If the error persists, replacing the main control board should fix the issue.

My Frigidaire dishwasher has recently started to act up. It starts the wash cycle but doesn't finish it.

Sounds just like my Whirlpool dishwasher. If you have the documentation that came with it look through it for a "reset" method to re-calibrate the dirt sensor in the unit. If you don't have the owners manual try to "Google" an owners manual or a "technicians" manual to find a reset or a re-calibrate procedure. Mine consisted of pressing certain control buttons at the same time, after which the unit ran through a calibration cycle that took about as long as a normal wash, and it has worked great ever since.

A High Limit Thermostat is what it says. If the temperature goes over limit, it cuts power to the element. The temperature itself is controlled by an electronic sensor called a thermistor, or a standard 'thermostat'.
