How do I reset the bios Password on a Panasonic Cf-51

If you have forgotten your bios password on your Panasonic Cf-51, there is no need to worry. There are a few simple steps that you can follow in order to reset the password and regain access to your computer. First, locate the RTCRST jumper on the motherboard. This is usually located near the CMOS battery. Once you have located the jumper, remove it and then replace it in the opposite position. This will reset the bios password. Next, locate the power button on the front of the computer. Once you have located the power button, press and hold it for a few seconds. This will reset the power to the computer and will also clear the bios password. I hope this helps!

Keyboard is stuck in numeric mode. Can't type

On the Panasonic Toughbook CF-51 there is a key located on the top right next to the F12 function key called "NumLk" or Num Lock. Press this key once and the embedded numeric keypad is enabled. Press it a second time and it is disabled. How do you know if it is enabled or disabled? Simple: Observe the LED above the keyboard. If the second light with the square symbol and the number "1" is lit up, then the NumLock is enabled. If that LED is not lit up it is disabled. Good Luck. Panasonic Toughbook CF-51 shutting down

Sue, it's not the inverter board. People who don't really know much about laptops will often diagnose them incorrectly, especially computer repair shops. The problem you're experiencing is most likely related to your motherboard. Unfortunately the most expensive part to replace on most laptops.

Your best bet is to probably just have any important files from the laptop extracted by a repair shop and then selling the computer "As-IS" on ebay. Or you could try another local repair shop to take a look at it. I wouldn't pay any money for a diagnostics since it would take most techs about 5-10 minutes to confirm what I just typed.

Where do I find a restore and recovery cd for a panasonic toughbook cf-51 mk2LL?

I wouldn't suggest buying such recovery CDs from 3rd parties when you have the option to get it from Original manufacturer. Buying it from a third party will not guarantee desired results and you may lose a lot of money. You can get it through the official Panasonic website. Here's the link: Panasonic Mobile Computing DVD Requests

How to enlarge the icons on the toolbar

If you mean enlarging the task bar items please follow the following steps: 1-Access the Taskbar and Start Menu. This particular menu will allow you to customize your taskbar features and resize the icons. Click on the Start menu, or Windows logo, from within your taskbar. 2-Select "Control Panel," then select "Appearance and Personalization." On some Windows 7 computers, this option may also read as "Appearance." 3-Click on "Taskbar and Start Menu." This will open a Taskbar and Start Menu Properties dialog box on your screen. 4-Change the size of the taskbar icons. Place a checkmark next to "Use small icons" within the Taskbar Appearance section to make your taskbar icons appear smaller. 5-Click directly on the checkmark if one is already present to enlarge the size of your taskbar icons. 6-Save your taskbar icon customization settings. Your new taskbar settings will go into effect immediately. Click on the "Apply" button to save your changes, then click "OK" to exit from the Taskbar and Start Menu Properties menu.

I had a similar situation with my CF-53. Oddly, the speakers would not work, but headphones plugged into the port on the front of the laptop would. Could you verify that you get audio through the headphone port, please?
