If you go to the device manager and under the details of the unknown driver with the excalmation it says something about mat0019, it's most likely a problem that you don't have your hotkey drivers installed. On the CF-51, you have to have the hotkey drivers in order for the sub-functions of the F-Keys to work (the blue label like brightness, switch monitor output, and SOUND CONTROLS). Even if you have the appropriate sound driver, you will not have sound until you install the hotkey drivers as well. You can get them free from the panasonic busines toughbook support website. You'll have to register. There will be three hotkey related drivers. You HAVE TO INSTALL THEM IN ORDER. First do the hotkey appendix, then settings, then driver.
