20 Most Recent Panasonic KV S2045C Path-Through Scanner Questions & Answers

Wow, it's been so long since I posted this, I cannot remember! I am the tech person and just was relaying the problem as an EX exployee relayed it to me. What did my original message say? I BELIEVE it was 1/2 black, but no image/words on the other half. Just black and white, but again, I cannot remember. Does it make a difference?

Most often this is due to a dirty sensor or reflector. dust will often build up over time and cause poor sensor readings and thus a red error light. There are four paper sensor sets on this scanner. Cleaning each of the sensors with canned-air should resolve this issue.

1. the small black rectangle that is set down inot the paper-feed tray - this is the paper sensor.
2. whe you open the scanner (like you would to clear a paper jam), on the part of the scanner that swings open and just above the two white plastic rollers, you will see another small black rectangle that has two "eyes" - this is the wait sensor. the wait sensor meets up with a shiny reflector when the door is closed; this reflector is just behind the large rubber roller on the base of the scanner - it may also build a layer of dust and need to be cleaned.
3. a little further down on the open door, below the wait sensor is the start sensor, and it's reflector is on the base of the scanner just below the second set of small rubber rollers.
4. the ending sensor is a little harder to get to. if you look into the area where the paper exits the scanner, you will see two blck rubber rollers - between these rollers you will see a "notch" - at the bottom of the notch is the reflector and just above is the ending sensor. this is the most likely cause of your troubles and usually a few strong blasts from the canned air will take care of it. If the reflector is real dirty, you can take a cotton swab and a few drops of rubbing alcohol and work it around in that area.

This is one of the most common scanner-error questions I get! I hope my wording is clear and helps you resolve this problem!

Press the following keys: MENU, #, 9000, *, 655 code comes back replace the fuser unit

Press the following keys: MENU, #,9000,*,655. If Service Code 3 comes back replace the fusing unit (Hot part).

Does the machine say replace drum or toner. Two different units. If toner did refill or install a new toner. There is a chip on most drums and toner to tell the machine they are new. if you refill the toner the chip is still going to tell the machine it is used.

Check the draw one tray. Ensure paper is properly installed and check behind the draw as well

Print Head issue, was it replaced recently ensure it was connected properly, Print head houses the LASER that puts the image on the drum!

Well if there is a Electronic chip on the cartridge then refilling will do nothing as the chip tells the copier its empty unless the chip change refill will not help.
