What exactly are you using as the external monitor? Is it just a normal LCD monitor, CRT monitor or LCD tv/Plasma tv? Also get me the make and model of the same.

the lcd may be broken or the connection cable may be loose. in both cases, if you're still on warranty coverage, ask for specialized help. if you're out of warranty coverage, then try to troubleshoot the problem with your user's manual. if you can't solve the problem this way, try opening your computer and check if the cable is loosen. be careful to remove the battery first and unplug the power cord before opening the laptop's chassis.

click on the start button>in the start serach box type in regedit>now you will see the regedit option listed there>click on it and click on continue>now you will have the registory editor window open>here on the left hand side double click on HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>under that double click on SYSTEM>under that double click on Current Control Set>now double click on Control>now double click on Class>now look for 4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC108002BE10318.click once on this option.>now on the right hand side look for "upperfilters" & "lowerfilters".you may have both of them or any one of them.just right click and delete any such file.after this close all the windows and restart the system.if everything goes fine your dvd drive should work fine.

Try to use a different browser. Preferably Mozilla Firefox, or opera web browser.

The hard drive is hidden inside, and you have to take the palm rest off to get to it. Does IE8 work?? If so then uninstalll Mozilla / re-install.

If IE8 doesnt work either then Windows registry is corrupt.

Try going into safe mode and select "last best known config"

If that doesnt work Windows is too corrupt / requires Windows reload.

ur Sound and Audio IRQ is locked by Windows update....the only solution is to use a external USB Sound card.....

the problem is not with the inverter.
the dim light is due to the LCD Back light

If you have not removed all the partitions then you can boot with any OS disk and clear the c partition.After that take out the disk and press the recovery option.It should autometicaly partition the disk and reload the OS.

If you made any changes in the partition table then recovery could be done with the OS disk only.
