How To Remove My Hard Drive????????
This is a complicated process and I advise you to be very cautious and carefully organize all screws and cables that you unplug in a clean and undisturbed area. Pay keen attention as to where cables are unplugged from so you can plug them in when hard drive is inserted.
I must say proceed at your own risk because it might get frustrating if you are not careful and organized.
First, turn over the laptop and loose all 7 screws on the perimeter of the laptop. Loose one screw in the middle and 2 on both sides of the battery (total 10 screws). Remove the battery, there are two clips there holding the keyboard. Release those and remove the keyboard and unplug main keyboard data cable from motherboard. Unplug the power switch cable, and the touchpad cable from m/board.
Unscrew 3 screws from under the keyboard to remove the top cover of laptop. When that is removed you will see the hard drive in the bottom right. There are 3 screws holding the hdd to the system and 4 holding the enclosure that needs to be removed. Unplug the sata cable and use it for new sata hard drive.
I hope you have had the patience to do this as this is a job for a technician. If you have succeeded, congratulations.

MODEM
Make sure you have followed the instructions for installation first. Most wieless nic require that you install the software first before inserting the modem. It can cause damage to the part when not properly installed. Also check the system specifications that the modem requires. Please comment if this is not the case.
Hope this helps you

Sony Vaio PCG-F460
Plug an external monitor into the notebook. See if the diplay is clear. If there is no problem with the display there the problem is with your lcd. You can check for a loose connection by disassembling the notebook. If the connections are ok you have probably done damage to the lcd from the impact of the fall. Now if you are not familiar with working with notebooks internally I would not reommend opening it. Check your warranty with the manufacturer to see if you are covered otherwise take it in for service if you can.
Hope this helps you

VAIO Notebook Fn Keyboard not working
check under your "processes" in the Windows Taskmanager and see if you can find anything listed that starts with "hk" like "hkserv", "hksrv" or "hkcmd" .. That would be your hotkeys, if they were working. :)
This means the driver for your hotkeys is missing or corrupt.
Now, go to this site here: http://esupport.sony.com/perl/select-system.pl?PRODTYPE=24&NAVDISP=pc
and enter all your info (like model number, ...), then you'll be able to download the proper hotkey driver for your model Vaio.
write back if it worked.
regards,
Tom
