Yeah. If when you take out the A/C adapter, the laptop goes off immediately, even though you have bought a new battery, then it's definitely some hardware issue with the laptop itself. I'd say just live with it as it wouldn't be worth getting fixed (cheaper to get a new laptop).If it can run on battery fine, it's just that windows indicates that the battery is not detected, then it could be a software issue. But given it's the same in Windows 7 as with XP, this could be BIOS related. Perhaps try flashing the BIOS?

You need to install the drivers, windows does not recognize these additional buttons until the proper drivers are loaded. Depending on manufacturer windows 7 drivers may or may not be available. Microsoft did something smart with windows 7 by allowing you to use windows vista drivers in windows 7. So if there are no win 7 drivers just download and install the vista drivers. Good luck!

First get buy a can of compressed air and blow out all the vents and fans. That might just do the trick for you. Because taking apart a laptop is no simple process.

Please restart the computer and press the F2 key to access the BIOS setup. If the issue persist in the BIOS also then the issue is with the LCD screen, in that case service will be required to replace the LCD screen. You may either contact Sony Service Center at:

Based on the information, it seems that those are dead pixels and a LCD replacement will required.

As the hinge is what binds the display assembly to the laptop itself, you will need to remove the display assembly in order to replace the hinge. However, if you are only replacing the hinge cover, then you don't have to remove the display assembly.

located on the bottom of you pc its a small panel with the ram symbol on it it's held with a phillips screw or 2 turn off your pc take out your battery then hold onto to something to drown out any static from your body then they are held by small clips on both ends of the stick they will pop up on a 45% angle then remove, replace and enjoy and try to match speeds of ram for better performance hope this helps

You need to remove two screws on underside, closest to underside memory bank - yes these hold the keyboard - push back three small black "little" hinges in front of left 'ctrl' key, space bar, and arrow down key - obvious only when you finally see them. (battery & Ac disconnected of course) use CARE when "lifting" keyboard up-really more like gently lift space bar side up and gently rotate it back to see and gain access to RAM socket

reinstall the touchpad(mouse) driver and check if the same issue persists or not.
