Hi,
Need model number of your range to answer this question. Is this gas or electric? Is this a freestanding range or cooktop because I only can find information on ranges with this fault code given. All should EEPROM communication error which is a communication error on start up. when the top was damaged was the unit being used? Was water or liquid a factor when this damage happened? A loose wire would be a different error code or fault code like a F2 - E1 or E2, not your code given. I hope this helps, need more information. Thanks I’m happy to help further over the phone at https://www.6ya.com/expert/gere_bf68e6055dd61249
Get yourself a $5 electric socket tester at a place like Lowes or Home Depot and check all of your electric plugs it will tell you if all three wires in the socket are correct, wire wrong or if one is open,
2 POSSIBLE PROBLEMS: 1ST - SPARK SWITCH ON ONE OF THE BURNERS GOT STUCK, OR 2ND - SPARK MODULE IS BAD. HERE IS THE VIDEO INSTRUCTION HOW TO DISASSEMBLE KITCHENAID COOKTOPS AND HOW TO REPLACE THOSE PARTS. HOPE IT HELPS.
IF YOU DONT HEAR IT CLICKS, MOST LIKELY PROBLEM IS WITH SPARK MODULE, IF YOU HEAR IT DOES CLICK, BUT GAS DOES NOT IGNITE, CHECK IF IGNITERS FOR CRACKS OF CERAMIC INSULATION, THEN ITS BAD IGNITER. IN SOME CASES IT MIGHT BE A SPARK SWITCH. JUST TAKE A LOOK AT THIS VIDEO, IT WILL GIVE YOU AN IDEA HOW THEY MADE, AND WHAT MIGHT BE WRONG. HOPE IT HELPS.
Is there directional grain..? I have removed small imperfection in stainless look by gengtly rubbing only in the same direction as the existing grain.. and be careful sometimes the repair is worse than the issue..
IF you can locate the model number tag (bottom left of dooropening) you can look up the manual at www.geappliances.com.
The only button on your stove that should make the door lock would be the cleanbutton (self clean model) if that is pressed simply hit the clear/off or cancelkey and wait for the door to unlock. IF the self clean option ran for an houror so, you will have to wait for the oven to cool down before the lock canun-lock (safety feature).
Thanks.
