Roper REX4634KQ Electric Dryer - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
My Roper Dryer will tumble but ONLY on NON-heat settings.
open the door to dryer, look around the opening where you put the clothes in and send the full model number on your question you have REX4634KQ and three different models show up and parts are not the same, could possibly be a bad timer but the only way to tell is by checking with a meter
I have a Roper Mod:REX4634JQO
either your heating coil is damaged or you have a bad resistor in the back of the panel ...any tech can take a look and tell...the resistors run about 20.00 the coils on the other hand may turn out to be as high as 200.00 plus labor..hopefully it is the resistor..GOD bless
Hi, I have a Roper
repairs should be performed by an authorized repair person. the heating element coil may be broken and grounding itself the the module housing. if so replace the heating element.
The start button does nothing
Start buttons seldom fail, but door switches fail often.
Have someone good at this open the lid and bypass the door switch, it should start fine.
Door switches can be bought at Amazon or "Sears Parts Direct" or e-bay.
God bless your efforts.
Dryer runs but doesnt heat
check the heating element and the limit switches there are the first things to look for when theres no heat
My roper dryer is not heating
YOUR HEATING ELEMENT IS BAD OR YOUR HEATER BOX FUSE IS BAD,IF YOU HAVE A METER YOU CAN CHECK THEM BOTH-LET ME KNOW-MIKE
My dryer doesn't heat up
I had the same problem. I called the repair man and my heating elements were broken, I had them replaced and now my dryer works fine. For me getting it repaired was cheaper then buying a new one. Your repair man should give you a free estimate on the cost
I have a roper dryer Red4440VQ1 why sometimes it heats and sometimes it doesn't
Electric clothes dryers all have at least one sometimes several temperature switches mounted along the heater elements enclosure.
This switch is designed to detect extreme temperature and allow the the heater elements to turn of to prevent overheating.
The switches are generally only about 6 bucks a piece and have two two screws to hold them in place
When they start to go bad , they typically do just what yours is doing , shuting off and becoming stuck in the off position never clicking back on . As a field appliance tech I have repaired may of these . You could expect to pay about 120-160 for the repair if your not handy enough to take on the task.
Hope this was helpful.
Best of luck.
Joe Chiera.
Heats up but turns off
Most likely you have a control board problem. All those issuse point to the only thing that effects all those parts/functions of the dryer. This is about a $100 part. Call Sears parts and get a quote or go to http://www.searspartsdirect.com. Labor to replace will be in the $80-120 price range unless you bring it to a repair shop which could be cheaper.
