NOTE: This
is a multi-solution answer since I don't have all the tech from your question to pinpoint your problem
But the solution is in here generically, if you read and study the solutions very, very carefully.
First I would check cold control. Thats where you turn it off, if your temp is not warm. it can
be defective and not shutting off. If your temp is warm proceed with the following.
I would check the fan in the freezer. Listen to see if it is running
It moves air to the ref from the freezer
Then check to see if FREEZER CONTROL is turned WARMER WHICH MAKES THE REF COLDER AND VICE-VERSA. SEE?
The ref. temp should be about 33-35
The Freezer temp should be 0 to 10 Any thing below these temps is overkill and a waste of elect
The higher the number you turn it up to is the coldest
But is probably a common defrost problem The ice build up
is not being melted by the defrost system. The fan can't blow through the coils into the fridge.
Take out back panel of freezer to check for ice buildup. The coils should be clean.
There are three components to a defrost system- a heater, heater thermostat, and a timer unless you have a defrost electronic card.
Its best handled by a Technician but you could possibly do it by taking your model number to the nearest appliance parts store and asking for the parts. They are mostly located in freezer ,behind back panel on freezer coils.except the card which is usually located in ref The parts store will have info
Also check fan undernearh Ref in the rear
Clean condenser coils underneath
Make sure back cover is on the fridge. Some take them off and throw them away.
make one out of cardboard if its gone, using the holes of the old one.

My Roper refrigerator has water

Hello,

That water is from the melting frost of the automatic defrost cycle. Their is drain in the freezer behind the back wall under the evaperator coil that is blocked, so instead of defrost water draining it's pooling in the freezer or in some case espically on models with the freezer on the top,the water is leaking from the freezer vents into the fresh food compartment.
The way to clear the drain is remove back plate and remove all ice build up and GENTLY make a small hole in drain through then totally flush w/warm water.
The exact location of drain is under the coil behind back freezer plate in the center

Good luck

I hope this helps

WATER IS COLLECTING ON SHELVES-LOST

Your defrost is working - but the drain tube is clogged. It may be debris causing the clog - but more than likely it is ice.

Access the drain tube and defroster behind the back wall of the freezer. Remove built up ice on the floor of the freezer and the drip tray under the freezer coil and defroster coil. Don't use any sharp tools! Locate the drain tube at the low point of the drip tray. Attempt to clear it of ice by using a turkey baster (or the like) filled with hot water. Direct a stream of hot water from it into the drain tube. Ice may be an inch or two thick in the tube. Once the ice is clear, water should flow easily and quickly down the tube to the drip pan under the fridge - where it will be evaporated away.

To prevent the ice from forming in the drain tube in the future, hang some metal wires (preferably copper) from the the defrost coil down into the drain tube. Make the sure the wire is long enough so that it extends at least as far into the drain tube as the ice had clogged. The metal wire conducts the heat from the defroster down into the drain tube - thus preventing ice from forming - and clogging the drain. Use copper or aluminum wire if you can - steel coat hanger wire can be used if you can't find any copper or aluminum, but it will rust. Copper electrical wire # 14, # 12 or even # 10 is ideal, but the thicker the wire is the harder it is to work - it may be easier to use 3, 4 or more pieces of the smaller # 14 gauge wire instead of 1 or two pieces of # 10.

This worked for me and will probably work for you, too. If this was helpful, please rate my answer "4 thumbs up" - thanks!

Rt21lmxkq00-top freezer. My landlord has

I have a fridge (different from yours) that had the same problem. It defrosts ok, but the drain tube eventually freezes over, and can't melt - resulting in ice on the freezer floor and water dripping down into the fresh food compartment. This makes a real mess of the fridge.

Here's what I did: I took a couple of 8 inch long copper wires (#12 or #10 gauge) and bent a hook on one end of them to hang from the defroster heating element and let the other end hang down into the drain tube. My fridge allowed about 4 inches of the 8" wire to hang into the tube (adjust the length of your wire as needed). The copper wire conducts heat very well, so during the defrost cycle, the heat follows the copper into the drain tube preventing ice that may be trying to form. You can probably get away with aluminum (not as good as copper for heat transfer) or even steel coat hanger wire (but it will rust) if you must - I'm an electrician and had plenty of scrap copper so it was easy for me. It's worked like a charm for me - maybe it'll work for you too.

Good luck!

Help my frig is dying! The freezer compartment is

If the freezer is working that is a good sign. Here are what might be the problems; 1) Ice build up in the freezer will block air flow to the refrigerator and thus causing it to get warm and stay warm. If you observed a build up of ice in the freezer, it means that your defrost heater and/or your defrost thermostat is bad. In any case, replace both.
2) The evaporator fan plays an important role in circulating cold air in both freezer and refrigerator compartment. Listen for the evaporator fan and make sure that is running. If you can hear it, it has gone bad and will have to be replaced.
3) if any of the above applies, the lower or upper air dampers may be obstructed. Check and make sure that they are open.
4) Too much food or stuff in the freezer may also be the culprit. If there is too much stuff in the freezer, you might want to remove some them to make way for air to flow in the refrigerator compartment.
I hope this will help solve the problem. Do not forget "Feedback"

Fridge is leaking water from

Your freezer drain is clogged or frozen up with ice blockage. Need to remove the freezer floor liner, usually 2-4 1/4" screws holding it in - slide it out. Next slowly pour hot water over ice build up and melt all ice. The drain is under the evaporator coils (small hole near center) this connects to a pan under the refrigerator that then evaporates on its own. I usually place a couple of bowls inside fresh food area on top shelf to catch excess water dripping through ceiling of fresh foods.

Next you will need to attach a heat probe from the heater under the freezer coils and feed it into the drain in order to prevent freezing up again. Use part #819043 heat probe or strip some #14 gauge copper wire and wrap around heater once and place down through drain. Recommend the heat probe 819043 to get it right the first time.

Ice Maker problem 106-626636, too much water!?

Sears Had a couple of problems with this. They have a plastic tube they put on you ice make line that goes to the fill tray about 3 in long . You can make you own its just pvc pipe. The other thing is that the drain hole get froze over time and has you looking all over for a leak. The fix for this is a small strip of aluminum about 1/4 wide and 3 and a 1/2 long (pop can) rap it around the defrost coil 1 time and put about 2 in. down the drain hole. Now it can never freeze shut again. If you wan to buy the part its called a heat probe ( peace of tin) its about $20.00

The drain from the freezer

Hi!!
This problem is probably occurring because of poor quality of defrost heater or defrost thermostat in the Roper refrigerators.
Most of the time if you change the defrost thermostat the problem will be solved. In your case, I have read about a rig you can use to keep the drain plug from ever freezing again. NO COST. Let me look for it and I'll get back to you.

My refrigerator has an internal automatic ice

The reason that the ice does not freeze solid is that the freezer temperature is not low enough to freeze the ice. You mentioned that the freezer vents are getting plugged with ice. The ice build up on the evaporator coils, the ones that cool the freezer, is preventing cold air from circulating into the freezer compartment. Your fridge is equipped with a automatic defrost cycle. It is driven by a defrost timer that shuts down the compressor every 8 hours and turns on the defrost heater to melt the ice build up on the evap coil. The coil is heated to 40 deg F when the defrost thermostat cuts off the power to the heater. After about 40 minutes the timer turns the compressor back on for another 8 hour cycle.

The common failures in the defrost circuit are the defrost heater burning out or the defrost timer fails to advance and the fridge stays either in compressor mode or in defrost mode. Sometimes the defrost thermostat fails, but it is not as common as the other two failures.

I would check the defrost timer first. It looks like this: slamfix_6.jpg
I don't know where it is located on your model, but the possible places to look for it is on the back of the fridge near the compressor, in the refridgerator compartment in the part that houses the temperature controls. When you locate it, there is a round cam that can be turned with a straight blade screwdriver. Turn it until you hear a click. With the fridge plugged in, the compressor should stop and the ice in the freezer should start to melt. Listen for an sounds of the ice crackling from the freezer compartment or look for the ice melt water in the drip pan below the fridge. If you see or hear evidence that the ice is melting, then the problem is with your defrost timer failing to advance.

If you don't hear the ice cracking and melting, then the problem is with the defrost heater and thermostat is electrically open. Often the heater burns out and needs to be replaced. The heater & thermostat is attached to the evap coil located in the back of the freezer compartment behind a plastic panel. You will need to remove the contents of the freezer and remove the panel to get to the coil and heater. Use a hair dryer to melt the ice and the heater should look like a thick wire attached to the coil fins.

Parts for the defrost circuit can be bought at an appliance repair outlet or online such as repairclinic.com. Hope this helps you.

It will run for a little while then cut off. it

the compressor is overheating, you will need to check and see if the compressor fan is running at the back of the fridge. If not, this is what you need to replace. If it is then you will need to clean all of the dust and debris out of the condensor coils so the compressor can breathe.
