Acer Aspire 1690 Notebook - Page 4 Questions & Answers
Jumping cursor
This is a really common problem thats not actually a problem.
Go to trackpad settings and make sure tap to click is off.
Most laptops allow you to tap the track pad to act as a mouse button, try it go to an icon tap the trackpad youll see that the icon highlights as if you are actually left clicking.
When your typing the trackpad senses your arm or wrist occasionaly and thinks your tapping the mouse, thus moving the cursor.
So go into trackpad settings and turn off tap to click.
Speakers
If they just Suddenyl stoppe din the middle of listening then theres probably a hard ware problem and you cant really fix a audio card in a laptop becasue its all built into the mainboard so your probably out of luck.
Im asumeing you checked all the audio settings.
Sometimes on the inside of the laptop the speakers plug into the mainboard with a little wiresing harness that clips on, it may be that it jarred loose, you could try taking the laptop apart and messing with it, but only if you are confident in taking a laptop apart. Theers alot of lisstle plasice pieces and fragile parts inside that dont take kindly to being tugged or pulled on.
My Dell Laptop is not turning on
Sounds like you have short circuited your Motherboard badly. This will generally cause laptops to quit functioning at all. Get it replaced. Really is the only option.
Hope This Helps
Do i have bluetooth?
Well the Acer site says that it has built-in bluetooth!(Aspire 1690)
If you go to device manager
(Right click on my computer, click on manage. Under System Tools in the left pane click on device manager)
you should see one of the device categories there as Bluetooth, if you don't see it and see a yellow icon that means you might need to install the bluetooth drivers! If you don't either you might need another component(bluetooth hardware) for the bluetooth to work!
hope this was helpful

The reason i say this it is quicker and easier than buggering around tying to fix it also you have the original disks for your computer

sure..the speakers are toast, or the connection is fractured. You may be able to inspect the connection by removing the keyboard, but it's usually buried under the palm rest.
