The dehumidifier will not run.

Generally, the buckets on these units can be a little finicky. Especially, if the bucket is not installed properly. In other words, if the bucket doesn't trip the safety switch, when it's out in place and the "bucket full" indicator will remain on and the unit will not run. I suspect the hose attached to the bucket may have gotten the bucket slightly out of place and it's not triggering the safety switch. Turn the unit off, and reinstall the bucket,. Then turn the unit back ON. Make sure there is a little slack in the hose from the unit to the where ever you're draining the water to. In other words, the hose should not be pulling on the bucket.

As I said, they can be a little finicky, so be patient reinstalling the bucket. As it may take several tries, before you get it right.

Hope this helps solve the problem.

My new LG "ld450eal" DeHumidifier

The switch that says 'Bucket is full' is not adjusted properly.
It will need to be adjusted, normally a screw driver or pliers,
so that when its empty the switch is not made or the contacts
are open.
If it is in adjustment properly, then the switch is bad and needs
replacing.
Before you replace it, check to make sure the wires leading to it
are not touching, it may be sending a signal meaning 'full' by
electricaly touching each other at the switch.

Our dehumidier runs, all the

You can try running the hose in a bucket or pan. The hose must be lower then the unit to properly drain. Make sure the filter is good as well so it can absorb the moisture.
The dehumidifier removes moisture from the air by passing the moist air over a cold dehumidifer coil. The moisture condenses out of the air on this coil and goes to the drain. You may have a bad coil

My dehumidifier is running but

Hi,

First, make sure the humidistat isn't set too high by adjusting it to the lowest humidity setting and running it again. Next, test the dehumidifier by placing it in a closed bathroom with a hot shower running. If you don't see water collecting in the unit after several minutes, turn the unit off and clean all dehumidifier filters and coils. If, after adjusting the settings and cleaning the unit, you still don't see water collecting, you may have a refrigeration issue. This situation will have to be addressed by a qualified technician.

Good luck.

My dehumidifier is running but

Hi,

If your dehumidifier doesn't seem to run often but the humidity in the room is high, try adjusting the humidistat control on the dehumidifier to a dryer setting. If the dehumidifier seems to run constantly, but there's little or no water in the container, there may be a problem in the refrigeration system. Try cleaning the unit. If that doesn't work, you can't repair the refrigeration system yourself, you need a qualified appliance repair technician to do that.

Let me know,if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

Need a Drain Hose Connector

Hello my name is Heath it will be my pleasure to assist you. Unfortunately the drain hose connector is sold with the bucket so you may have to buy both unless you can find something at the local hardware store that will screw into the bucket with a nipple on it to attach a hose to. Here is a link to the bucket and drain hose connector that i found:http://www.fixdevice.com/manuals/file/8706.html

MY DEHUMIDIFIER IS GETTING VERY HOT - DANGEROUS?

Hi, sure it's normal. A dehumidifier works alot like an air-conditioner. Since warm air holds more moisture than cold air, it cools the air to remove the moisture. The heat energy that has been removed from the air has to be exhausted (as well as the heat it takes to run the machine itself).

Take care

Fan and compressor run but coils not cold and no

If your compressor is running but the coils are not getting cold, then you have a problem in your refrigerant circuit.....Most likely a restriction or a leak with a leak being the more likely of the two.

if you carefully examin the compressor/motor, there should be a small red or orange button on the side of it. Or it may be inside the the terminal box.TURN OFF POWER BEFORE YOU START!!!
press the button in firmly and you shoul feel or hear a click.

That is the motor protection 'overload".
once pressed. close it all up and turn on power.

It is running for only

Most dehumidifiers run until the room is brought to the humidity level set. It will not come back on until the humidity level comes back. Its very dry in the winter and they will tend to run less.

If you are seeking a dryer level, turn up the amount of dryness, or humidity removal and it should kick on.

Also, make sure the water bin is not full and that the water level switch is not stuck.

If this does not solve the problem, please specify the model and year you bought it please.
