ASUS P4S800-MX Motherboard - Page 7 Questions & Answers

Hi,
DDR 333 memory is DDR PC2700, I believe. It might be hard to find a new MB that will work with that. You'll probably have to buy new memory. You'll also need a new CPU fan, unless you know the Socket type of your existing MB. But you should replace the fan anyway on a new CPU/MB install. You should buy as much memory as you can afford.
Try looking HERE and see if anything is in your price range.
Hope that helps...

Vista network is not displaying completely domain members
Microsoft Knows of the problem with
Vista NetworkUnfortunately,I got tired of microsoft making it illegal to tweak the OS to get it to do what you want it to do. (GO LINUX,GO)
I have been forced to use 3rd party software to properly map the network. (
network magic) The software also allows me to control who accesses the open wireless we have by allowing me to treat anyone I want as a Threat and block them without securing my wireless.
Sorry I couldn't "Fix" the problem.

Problem S/PDIF
check your graphics card if its foulty that could be ur problem
Asus p4s800-mx
The problem is most likely bad capacitors. The may have used a bad batch, with many people having such issues. I understand it is difficult to get several of the caps out without ruining the board completely, so it may not be worth the time and effort it would take to replace them.
Asus p4p800se
I don't think so. Have you checked to see if:
One, your cable connections are secure and properly seated?
Two, check to see if are any shorts in the cables?
Three, make sure you do not have any jumpers shunting audio output. Check first to make sure that jumper isn't right before removing the jumper...See the Manual.
[PS] Jumpers are those little magic blocks, like you see on the CMOS reset [1-2 || 2-3]. They shunt two pins.
ASUS P4S800-MX Boot / ISSUE
I'm sorry to say that I had much the same problem with a RMA'ed mobo from Asus. The one that came back worked for a short time, and then died.
I can't say that Asus is the only one I've had the same problem with, Intel has done the same. But I kinda expected more from Asus. I did not bother again, I just decided to do a mobo/CPU/memory upgrade at Fry's.
Sorry.

Booting up
the first you'll have to do is diagnosis the problem, you can try a few step here,
1. remove all plugin that are not used while rebooting such as Harddisk drive, disc drive/rom and floppy disk.
2. try to reboot, if it not work, turn off again.
3. unplug the DDR, clean the pin with contact cleaner spray then plug in again. do same thing with the CPU/processor.
4. if it nort work too, you need to check your power supply.
hopefully this helps.!
Can not get any boot at all
Hi,
First of all, your hard drive is what this computer needs to boot up. Try to see if you can POST, that is, only plug in power supply to motherboard with cpu and memory in there. Don't put any hard drive or other device into motherboard as yet. see if it reaches past post. If it does, then plug in hard drive and see if the problem occurs again. If it does, then the problem is the hard drive. But for now try reaching past post with only the bare necessary components for startup. Then let me know what happens.
