Averatec 4200 Notebook Questions & Answers
There are lines running through the screen and I was wondering if there is a fix for this?
There are 3 main issues that can cause this:First I would determine whether your GPU is at fault as this is the easiest thing to isolate. You can do this by plugging into an external monitor. If the lines are still there on an external display you can be fairly certain your GPU is faulty. In this case I would recommend getting the GPU of the laptop re-balled or replacing the mainboard completely. Unless you have a separate graphics card in the system such as MXM, then just replace that or get the GPU on that re-balled.If there is no distortion of image on an external display then you have isolated the problem to the screen panel or LCD cable of the laptop.Secondly I would check you LCD cable is seated correctly. If not re-seat and test. Hopefully this will cure your issues. If this doesn't cure your issues, while the laptop is running try to flex/bend the LCD cable and see if you see a change in the distortions to the image displayed. If you do, you probably need to change the LCD cable.Thirdly if you have got the stage where you have tried flexing/moving the LCD cable while the laptop is running and the action causes no change in the distortion of image it is most likely that your LCD panel has a problem and needs replacing.Hope all this helps :)

First, check to make sure the battery is properly inserted.
Second, how old is your laptop? Batteries in laptops only have a certain lifespan. If you leave the battery in the laptop for prolonged periods of time while it is plugged in charging and the battery is at 100%, the life span will significantly degrade over time due to the constant charge/discharge.

If your LCD monitor displays your desktop fine as it boots up and then goes blank after a few seconds, but you can still faintly see your desktop then this may seem like a brightness issue but it's not. The picture displays very faintly, this is because the LCD backlighting isn't working properly. Which in turn is either because (most likely in cases like this) the inverter circuit has failed or the cold cathode tube has blown. If you're new to the electronics business and are not sure how to solder and connect circuits then this is the job for a qualified repair technician. So i suggest you head on down to your local PC store and have a technician take a look.
If you want to try it youself go
here to order some spares.
With laptop monitors it may be cheaper just to replace the entire screen. You can order another one
here. I first suggest that you take the laptop to a technition just to make sure it is an issue with the screen and not a faulty component within the laptop.

Hello,
the problem is from your keyboard. You need to change the keyboard entirely.
You also have the option of using an external keyboard if you are not ready to change the laptop keyboard yet.
Good luck.
Monitor receives no signal from PC. Connections tested : OK
You should not need a driver for that. If there is a plug on the laptop to connect the monitor, simply plug it and reboot.
You probably need to use some key combination to activate the external display. Mostly "Fn" + one of the function keys (it will have a monitor shown on it).
Wireless driver download
I just used winzip and opened the driver. I see the driver and its there. Do you have a copy of winzip. if not I will give you a link to version 10 which is free

Hi Martha,
Re boot into safe mode (by pressing/tapping F8 key on boot before Windows begins to load), then select "Safe Mode" from the options provided and run a full virus scan with an updated anti virus program to attempt to eliminate a threat.
Please give more details and/or an explanation of "now i can not acces anythig"?
Thanks.
