Canon Multipass F80 printing is very faded.

Not a new printer, but a new printhead will solve your problem. The number is QY6-0041-000. The cost is around $40.00. Instructions come with it to help you change it...

Message "wasted ink tank near full" on Canon Multipass F80

Inkjet printers have a fibrous pad inside them that collects the waste ink from cleaning the print head. Over time, this pad fills up with ink and can no longer hold any more. When this occurs, the printer indicates a "waste ink tank full" error.

Replacing the waste ink absorption pads is something an authorized canon service facility can take care of for you. Once they are replaced, it'll be functional again.

DRIVER FOR MAC OS X OPERATING SYSTEM

See the following web page from cannon

http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=OSCompatibilitySupportAct&keycode=macdr&fcategoryid=238&modelid=7175

I find this slightly confusing that the statement concerning OS x10.5 states the preinstalled or provided driver will work but recommends an updated driver then lists no drivers for download above that section.

I have a canon multi

First you need to ensure that this is not a driver problem, by reinstalling drivers and testing the printer on a different computer.

Also ensure that ink cartridges are OK, try replacement inks.

If the problem is not a software problem, and the printer is recognised by computer, and the printout is coming as a blank or faded page, then you usually have a faulty or clogged printhead.

Try first performing print head cleaning procedure from printer tools, that may not fix the problem, but do the cleaning a couple of times, just in case.

If the print head is clogged, that can be fixed soaking the print head in isopropyl alcohol overnight.

If still no luck, then the printhead must be replaced, here is the part: Canon MULTI-PASS F-80 Print Head $61.00

Canon multipass F50 cannot get machine to print from my xp laptop

Normal 0 Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off. I'd do both and reinstall the CD software program that came with the printer. When the software program asks you to connect the printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.
Hope this helps. Bud

Black Line when using sheet feeder

Open the cover over the scanning area and check the narrow strip of glass to the left of the platen glass. See if there is any foreign material there (dirt, whiteout, etc) and clean it gently with a damp cloth. You may find a piece of clear plastic covering that area. It's there to keep the glass from getting scratched. If the plastic is heavily scratched at that point, it can cause the line you're seeing. Removing the plastic will clean up the scans.

Problem with Canon MultiPASS F80

On the right side of the print cartridge carriage there are two small felt ink pads. When they fill with ink somehow the machine detects it. Mine started with the flashing light and check printer error code and then progressed to a nasty grinding sound everytime I hit resume or tried to reset the counter. I thought all was lost, but kept trying. I found two pads, one square and one rectangular. They aren't very spongy but they are full of ink. They are only about an inch across. I got them out without taking the printer apart and repeatedly soaked them in a little water until the water was clear, then I let them dry and replaced them in the little trays where they came from. I cleaned the plastic fins that were nearby and coated with ink with a Qtip and rubbing alcohol. And I removed the print head and cleaned the muck of ink on the connectors with a Qtip and rubbing alcohol. Much to my suprise, after all of this the damn thing worked fine again when I plugged it back in.

Cannon multipass f80

Hi,I would suggest you to first trying unplugging/ switching off your device for 5 minutes. This restores and refreshes the device. Go for it
Let me know if this works, if it doesn’t then I’ll provide some other alternative solution.
Thanks
