Canon MP730 - All pictures are too blue

Hello,Check the Following If the printed Pattern is broken, missing, or a specific color is not printed, clean the print head.

  2. Press the left [<] or right [>] arrow buttons to select [MAINTENANCE].

  2. Press the <Open> button (1) and lift up the scanning unit. The print head holder automatically moves to the center of the machine.0c4caf3.jpg

The black ink on my MP730 Canon printer is not

Summary

Usage of compatible ink and leave the printer idle too long may cause printhead clogging
What should you do if you get this problem. Relax; you may recover the printhead by unclogging it. Follow these steps to unclog the printhead

1. Right click in the printer driver name
2. Select Properties menu
3. Click Maintenance tab
4. Click on cleaning sign for regular cleaning. Perform this up to 3 times.
5. If this does not work, perform Deep Cleaning

And if that not work

Some times it needs a good clean up but this is up to you if you want to do this,
But after you done this prime the printer so it gets the inks back in the heads, it may take a little time for the inks to work.

Ok.

There is fluid cleaner for this but I can never find any in the shops the only ones I seen is when they sell them in Tesco but they come in with the ink refill bottles so I just use worm water by it self on a cloth and dabbing on the heads to clean them, it will not harm the heads but not to much water.

Some heads are on the inks them self but some have them inside the printer so I not know your printer so if the heads are inside you need to get them out you may find that some heads will just clip out put some need to be unscrewed so you got to know how they come out so be careful and not push to hard on them, if the heads are on the ink then it is a easy job to clean them,
It worth a try it worked for me more than ones.

Please all I ask is call back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one, so I will keep on helping.

My toner was low, so I replaced it...it printed

Hello,

If you changed the toner cartridge before the previous one was completely empty, it is possible the machine simply did not reset.

Turn the power off and take the new toner cartridge out. Turn the power back on and wait for a message telling you there is no toner.
When you get the no toner message re-insert the new toner cartridge.

If this does not clear the message, you will need to find the button to press to manually reset the toner cartridge from Canon.

Thanks,

Pat

Re cannon mp730 all in one -I keep getting ?wrong

Your print head may be damaged. You might consider replacing it.

Canon suggests pulling the ink wells and also pulling the print head and then reinstalling the whole assembly. They consider this a reset. It is also suggested to replace the printhead which the ink cartridges are housed in. I have done this to remedy bad printing and am considering this $50 purchase as I am dealing with "wrong cartridge" message also. Some have said replacing the printhead remedied this code problem. BUT, i did read one person who said this did NOT work. Right now I am debating whether I should put $50 dollars more into this machine....although this printer has been excellent and many agree.
Comments: Apr 17, 2010 - As a follow up I did fix my "Wrong Cartridge" message by replacing the printhead, I worked and worked at cleaning the old one but finally gave in and anted up the $50. This fixed it! Long live DIYers!

My display is saying

Hi there
There no easy way the printers are been made this way so you take them to the shop, but if you are handy with your hands and know what you are doing then you will need to take all apart and take out the ink pads inside the printer and clean them up make sure they nice dry when put back in, then you are going to need a program that you can find on the internet it will be called waste reset tools, or your printer will not work even after you done the clean out.

I am not sure what canon you have so I cant tell you the tools you need for yours, i have got canon MP-Tools on my website if this is the one you need.
with this you can reset the waste ink tank before you do the clean out but remember in time you will need to clean out or it going to be a big mess of ink coming out your printer.

Click Link = http://www.4all2sell.com/reset-tools/MPTool.exe

All I ask is please come back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one so I will keep on helping.

Is software available to make my mp730 compatible

Sorry, no. Canon shows only Windows drivers at their download page for this model. I did find a couple of posts from people who said they tried the Mac drivers for the model MP780. One person said it worked but another said it didn't. You can try for yourself.

How do I fix Vertical lines on print out

Open "properties", on the bottom you will see "printing preferences". Try changing the print quality to "high" or adjust the color intensity manually- there are 2 options, "auto" and "manual". Check the "manual" and adjust it.

Waste Ink Near Full on Canon MP730

I dont know the exact process that I have done before, however the trick is to zero your page count, and this worked twice for me. The printer figures your waste ink reservoir (actually a sponge) is near full by a page counter. There are articles out there on how to repair this physically but please dont go there, get a new printer or even better an less used MP730.

Mp730 will not print black

Providing that you ripped off the seal and put your black cartridge and put your cartridge in correctly, the most likely thing is the printhead. Remove your cartridges, remove the printhead by grasping the sides of it (thumb and index fingure) and under a tap of slow warm water for about 5 minutes or earlier if the water dropping off the bottom is clear, and dont aim at those silvery things. Give it a tip and a filck to get the water off, and never touch those contacts on the back. Put everything back, lever down, and hopefully things start working. If unsuccesful, the next step, prior to buying a new printhead is using a knife stroking downward on the carriage contacts (the ones that your printhead pushes up against) a couple of scrapes per column. This last thing for me is usually related to what I will call a **** back where for example the yellow cartridge sucks up blue ink (that is drooling on the bottom of the print head), and I have a number of disbelievers, but I have this more than 5 times. The last, is to pony up $50 for a new printhead.

"WRONG CARTRIDGE" blinking

Yes this is a common problem with all in ones (actually that's how it was designed) if the printer runs out of ink or you use a compatible cartridge,, then nothing else works.. Remove and reinsert the cartridge.. If that fails,, then replace i.. other than that there is nothing else you can do..

Wrong cartridge message

It appears that the problem is not in the ink cartridges at all but rather the print head assembly. Upon disassembly of the print head it can be discovered that the thing appearing to be a logic chip, is probably responsible for several standard commands including cartridge status. One should replace the printhead and then followed the instructions on aligning the printhead. This solves the problem. It can be  bought from Canon for about $45.00 including shipping. Hopes this helps. Thank you, Have a nice day...!

Canon MP730 "carrige jam" error frequently

This error will generate when the printhead holder cannot move. This is usually due to a paper jam. Clear the jam (or whatever might be obstructing it) and then press "Resume". Do NOT try to move the printhead holder manually. As for cleaning your printer, here is the owners guide from Canon. http://alpha03u.c-wss.com/inc/ApplServlet?SV=WWUCA900 Download the last link on the page. Hope this helps. Good luck.
