canon mp390 stoped working with computer. error initalizing out put device, shows up or it'll state that it's printing the the printer is not responding. Iam able to use the printer with out the computer. I change the ub cord but nothing has changed.
I had a similar problem with a Multipass F30 - check that the Canon Service "mpservice" is running. In the situation I had it was set to automatic, but the service was stopped. You can locate the Services by going to the Control Panel, then Performance & Maintenance if you are using catagory view or directly to Administrative Tools if in Classic View. Double click on Administrative Tools and then open Services. Scroll down and locate mpservice to see if it is running. I hope this helps.

Have replaced the printhead and put in new cartidges but still output. Hasn't been used for a few months.
Hi James,
If you have replaced the printhead and cartridges and the problem still occurs then it may be the printhead contacts that are dirty. Get a cotton bud and pure alochol and lightly rub the contacts. But I would expect some sort of print out albeit not a decent one. If the above solution does not work then you may have to speak to canon as it may be a serious problem.

Change the cartridge message. I changed both black & color but still the same message would appear. I can NOT make any maintenance ( cleaning the nozzle,....)

Someone gave me a Canon but does not have the disc to install it, does anyone know where I can go to download what I need to get this working, and what exactly do I download, not very good with computers when it comes to manually installing things, [email protected]

Unsure how to lift the top of the printer to change the ink cartridge
With the machine powered on. Just lift up on the entire top portion on the platen unit, lower the front verticle cover and the printhead should come to the correct position to change out the ink tanks, just tilt tanks towards the front of the unit and lift out.

Need help to solve this error message. The printer was turned on with "Data Error Press Set Key" Message and alarm indicator flashing. After pressing all buttons, the 'set' key was later found to be on the numeric key "5". It seems that due to this error, the key functions were automatically misprogrammed. The Menu was set to key '+' instead of 'Menu' key. The Additional Functions was set to 'Directory" key. The Stop/Reset to numeric key '4'. The On/Off to key '#'....etc...etc. Moreover my pc couldn't recognise the printer any longer.
Any suggestions or clues to solve this problem is great appreciated. Thx.

my scanner only scans parts of an images over a series of pages - how do I get my scanner to scan the image as a whole? I have the same problem and i beileve that the problem is that we have windows vista x64... there is any driver that can work for vista x64???
